IGIMS Patna came into being as a response to the challenges that the people of the state of Bihar were facing medically. The institute was set up to be at par with the level and standards of  AIIMS Delhi. IGIMS Patna was considered to provide health care facilities to only to the residents of Bihar but also to residents of the northeastern states, Bhuta, and Nepal as well. The institute has been named after the late Prime Minister Srimati Indira Gandhi. IGIMS Patna was established in 1983. Admission into the various courses offered by IGIMS Patna is based on the NEET UG 2022.

IGIMS Patna has two colleges running under it, viz., medical college and nursing college with 40 departments providing healthcare facilities of the highest standard. The institute also runs various research centres to facilitate research interests among students and professionals.

IGIMS Patna Admission 

IGIMS Patna admission 2022 is based on NEET UG 2022 examination. The mode of the examination is offline. IGIMS Patna UG admission will begin shortly after NEET UG results are declared. IGIMS Patna PG and UG admission are held only after the candidates satisfy the eligibility criteria.

IGIMS Patna Eligibility Criteria

IGIMS Patna offers admission to various courses like MBBS, MS, MD, and BSc. Admissions into these courses are based on the eligibility criteria for the respective course. The eligibility criteria for the courses are given below.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

• For MBBS, a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects.
• IGIMS Patna MBBS admission is based on marks scored in the NEET UG exams.

MS/MD Eligibility Criteria

• For MS/MD, a candidate needs to have an MBBS degree from any Institute or University. The admission is based on merit in NEET PG.

BSc Eligibility Criteria

• For BSc, a candidate should have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects and a minimum of 45% marks.

IGIMS Patna Result

IGIMS Patna results for the NEET UG 2022 entrance exam will be released in August 2022 tentatively. The exam was conducted in July 2022. To check the results, students can follow the steps mentioned below

• On the official website of NEET UG 2022 click on “Results” 
• You’ll be directed to the result page. 
• Students have to enter the Enrollment Number and Password and then click login.
• Students can check their results and download a copy of their results from there.

IGIMS Patna Infrastructure

IGIMS Patna is spread over approximately 131 acres. The infrastructure of the college is summarized below.

• Laboratory services are provided for a number of laboratory investigations. It consists of disciplines of biochemistry, pathology, microbiology & serology, haematology, immunology, infectious diseases, and histopathology.
• Has a well-functioning library with access to a variety of books, audio-video materials, magazines, and journals

IGIMS Patna Placements

IGIMS Patna being a medical college offers only an internship program to final-year MBBS students who receive a stipend of 20, 000 INR. There are no other placement drives that take place on campus.
