Indore Institute of Science and Technology was established in 2003 by the Shail Education and Welfare Society. It is located opposite the IIM, Indore campus in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA] and Tata Consultancy Services [TCS] and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]. The institute is also recognized by DTE, Bhopal, and the University Grants Commission [UGC]. The Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, [RGPV] Bhopal.

The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate engineering degrees. The IIST Admission is based on merit and scores in the qualifying exams.

The Institute has a tie-up with five premier IITs [Delhi, Kanpur, Bombay, Madras, and Kharagpur] for Academic Excellence and has associations with NASSCOM, Spoken Tutorial IIT Bombay, and e-Yantra Robotics Lab IIT Bombay.
