Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management was established in 1999. The institute is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and is approved by the Government of NCT of Delhi. IITM Janakpuri has an ‘A’ Grade by GNCTD, is assessed as ‘A+’ by SFRC, and has been accredited by NAAC. IITM Janakpuri offers UGC-approved and GGSIPU-conducted courses like B.B.A, B.C.A and B.Com Hons.

IITM Janakpuri admissions are conducted solely on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by GGSIP University. IITM Janakpuri Delhi has an Industry Institute Partnership Centre (IIPC) that was established in 2004 to enhance the interface between the Institute and the Institute. IITM Janakpuri also focuses on the physical development of the students, giving equal importance to sports and other curricular activities.
