Library :
Lady Irwin College Library exists to supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in the field of Home Science. Having a specialized collection in the area of Home Science and its allied areas the library pursue higher value of knowledge, creativity and wisdom and empowers its users to be connected with literature published / available in the field through networks. Founded in 1930's, today the library has grown into a separate building covering 500 sq meters of area with one and a half storey building located in the premises of the college and is equipped with 120 seating capacity.
Founded with few gifted books, library has grown today, with more than 52,500 published documents with above 200 electronic documents. As on date, library is subscribing 117 journals of academic nature published in India and overseas. It has 2,300+ research works (Dissertations and Thesis) and more than 7,500 bound back files of periodicals. The college library is known for its quality collection amongst Home Scientists nationally and internationally. Major areas of its collection are: Food and Nutrition, Human Development & Childhood Studies, Fabric and Apparel Science, Resource Management & Design Applications, Development Communication and Extension, Dietetics, Education and Special Education. The other areas of collection include: Food Technology, Food Science, Human Growth and Personality Development, Children with Special Needs, Gender Studies, Woman Studies, Apparel Design, Fashion Designing, Sociology, Psychology, Communication, Management, Applied Science etc.
Hostel :
The Lady Irwin College Hostel, is a "A Home Away From Home" for about 200 students coming from all parts of India and abroad. There are two separate hostel buildings, one for the Undergraduate students and the other one for Postgraduate and Ph.D scholars. The renovated hostel building is equipped with modern facilities with a traditional facade that is elegant and efficient. The hostel is Wi-Fi enabled and has LCD television besides other facilities. The rooms are spacious and well furnished.
The hostel provides all the students a safe and comfortable environment and is a Zero ragging and a No Smoking Zone.
The Hostel is managed by the Hostel Committee which is constituted by the Staff Council of the College and executed by the Warden in consultation with the college Director .The Hostel Committee comprises of the College Director, The Teacher Warden and two Faculty members nominated by the Staff Council.
Medical Facilities & Hygiene:
Doctors are available at Bengali market for consultation in case of illness. However, the local guardian will be informed at the address notified by the parents and the parents/ local guardians are to supervise the consultation and admission to the hospital if required.
Every student must report both major and minor illnesses to the authorities.
Self medication is not advisable.
Every student is expected to keep her room neat and clean and to treat all hostel property with care.
In order to maintain cleanliness & proper hygiene there are cleaning staff throughout the day.
Hostel Mess :
The mess is run by the Students Body under the supervision of Mess-In-Charge and the Hostel Warden, who are assisted by the hostel superintendent, kitchen staff such as cooks and other helpers.
Other Facilities

Entrance Exams & Admissions : 12th pass with good marks and fill-up the form. No entrance exam for my course. 75 cutoff for my course.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : I am a day scholar so I don't know about the fee structure of the hostel and we aren't allowed to go in the hostel (Aashiyana) area. Quality of some classes are good but some are average. Labs are good.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : In Lady Irwin college, the cutoff of is 85% and no entrance exam.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Students from any stream can apply for this. Cut off at the time of my admission was 85% for commerce and humanities and 89% for science. no entrance exam is there.
