MIMS was founded by Dr. Kailash Narayan Singh to provide education to all people even the for he infirm and weaker sections of society. Dr. Singh moved to Canada to complete his education in 1960 and later he moved back to India in 1973 to do his MBBS studies at Magadh University, Bihar. Dr. Singh always had an innate desire to start a medical college, and hospital and open a trauma centre in eastern Bihar. MIMS is affiliated with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU), offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of NEET UG scores.
The college is equipped with various clubs including an NSS unit. They also have strict anti-ragging policies in force and a separate committee to ensure ragging doesn’t occur on the premises.

MIMS founder, Dr, Narayan Singh is a visionary who wanted to do good by extending a helping hand to the vulnerable groups of society. The infrastructure of MIMS includes all the basic requirements of medical college and separate sports, residence, and academic areas. MIMS cutoff will be released after the announcement of NEET UG and NEET PG results. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC must secure at least the 40th percentile in the counseling rounds. The opening rank for the MBBS course in 2020 was 33594 and the losing rank was 314644. Post referring to the previous year’s cutoff patterns, the expected NEET UG cutoff for the general category is 50%, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% for general PwD, and 40% for PwD falling in SC/ST/OBC category.
