Overview

Mercy College, established in 1964, is the first-grade postgraduate women’s college affiliated with Calicut University. Managed by the Carmelite Sisters of Jai Christo CMC Education Agency, it falls under the religious jurisdiction of Palakkad’s Bishop. The college has been reaccredited with an "A" grade by NAAC and offers over 20 courses taught by more than 250 faculty members. Admissions are conducted through the University of Calicut’s Centralized Admission Process.

Mercy College Admission

Admission Instructions for UG & PG Programmes 
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for higher studies (as per Kerala Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent) are eligible for UG admissions. Those qualified under the “SAY” scheme or CBSE compartmental exams are also eligible. For Management Quota, a separate application with a fee of Rs 400 (UG) or Rs 500 (PG) is required. Selection will follow government norms and university regulations, with 20% of aided course seats through management and 50% of self-financed seats through merit and 50% through management. Candidates must attend the interview with a parent and provide relevant documents.

Documents Required for Interview:

  • Admit Card, CAP ID, Fee Receipt
  • Mark lists (SSLC, HSE/B.A./B.Sc.)
  • TC and Conduct Certificate
  • Income, Community, and Nativity Certificates (for fee concessions)
  • Extracurricular activity certificates
  • Parent/guardian presence is mandatory

Important Notes:

  • Fees are non-refundable once paid.
  • Caution Deposit is refunded at the end of the course, after deducting charges.
  • Students must submit original certificates during the interview, which will be returned later.

Withdrawal Rules:

  • Transfer Certificates are issued after all dues are paid.
  • A fee of ₹65 is charged for Transfer Certificates after a year of leaving, and ₹120 for duplicate copies, subject to specific conditions.
  • No fee is levied for course and conduct certificates.
