Government Law College Facilities:

There are various facilities provided by the college for the overall development of the students. The facilities include a library, Electronic research room, Auditorium, canteen, sports facilities and many more. The library has a rich collection of books with over 42,000 books, some of which cannot be found in any other library of India. There is a reading room located on the third floor of the college. The Library also possesses the original copy of the Indian Penal Code was drafted by Lord Macaulay in the year 1886. The students can avail of library facilities from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm. The college has an electronic research room equipped with any numbers of PCs. They provide students access to the following legal databases such as Manupatra, SCC, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw. The college has 17 classrooms, a Mooting Room, an Auditorium, an audio-visual room and a canteen for the benefit of students. There is an active sports committee in the college which organizes several inter-collegiate competitions across the country.

Government Law College Eligibility Criteria:

The admissions are based on the CET exams. Students are shortlisted based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. The following is the eligibility criteria for the courses offered at GLC.

GLC Admissions:

The students are selected rules and guidelines laid down by the College. The students are shortlisted based on the performance in CET examination. The admission must be taken by the student in person, by submitting the following documents:

  1. Marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET) Examination.
  2. The original statement of marks with a certified copy.
  3. Original Caste Certificate by students.
  4. Passing certificate and certified copy of the document indicating the date of birth, for example, school leaving certificate.
  5. Two recent passport size photographs.
  6. In the case of a student migrating from another University, a Provincial Eligibility Certificate issued from the Mumbai University will be required. Application for the certificate is to be made to the Registrar of Mumbai University in the prescribed form along with the prescribed fees.
  7. In the case of a student passing out from a college affiliated to the Mumbai University, a Transfer Certificate (T.C.) from that college will be required. The application for the T.C. should be sent through this college ion the prescribed form.
  8. Foreign students seeking admission should produce their passport and student visa at the time of admission. Those holding tourist visas or entry visas will not be considered.
  9. At the time of admission, every student must undertake to attend at least 75% of the total number of lectures held in each semester

The college has no of its own. The Government Law College facilities include a library, Electronic research room, Auditorium and many more. The students reside at the International Students Hostel, which is near to the college. The students are not assured of the accommodation in the hostel at the time of admission.
