I am not versed with the hostel options available for boys, but for girls there are two hostels provided by the University. One of them is exclusively for the medical students while the other one is for non-medical students. The one of the medical students is good, however the later one isn't a considerable option. The accommodation fee here is 50k per year, the mess fee is counted separately. There are a lot of better options available just outside the college that provides you with the comfort of staying in home. There are a lot of eatery options available within and outside the campus, you can have filling meals starting from just ₹60. You have a whole range of option on the platter. The building of SSS (School Of Social Science) is the heritage building owing to architecture from the last century. It has lifts and is a three storeyed building. The classrooms are of decent size. There are water cans available in every floor. The washrooms are really clean, the maintenance staff are always at work to keep every nook and corner clean. There is a huge library providing all that you need, there is also an e-library for the students. There is no wifi access to the students personally. There are labs for chemistry, physics and biology all well equipped. The garden is the best one, with seating area to relax from the hectic schedule, with greenery all around
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The eligibility criteria for B.Sc Economics is that candidates should pass their 10+2 with a minimum of 50%, from any stream, having mathematics isn't compulsory. There is no entrance examination for the course. The typical cutoff remains the same as mentioned above. The selection criteria of students for admission to University quota of seats is based on the admission policy of the University notified from time to time. So, keep in touch with the University portal.
Placements & Internships :
This programme is a 4 year programme with an exit option in the 3rd year, curated according to the NEP 2020. So, they provide internship opportunity in the 8th semester (4th year). Before that, no such opportunity is provided. A lot of renowned companies do come to hire from the campus including TCS, Robert Bosch, Mahindra, Mind tree, Indegene and many more. However, for this course, ours is the first batch (batch of 2021). So, I cannot provide with the statistics.
Fees & Scholarships :
The fees per year is around inr 1.1 per year. There are scholarship opportunities provided to student under schemes based on the government, also there are scholarship schemes provided by the University itself. Around 85% of my batchmates received the scholarship granted by the University. Yes, affordable student friendly loans are available. The admission staffs guide you accordingly, they have also partnered with. It lists 36 different bank offering 96 different types of loans. They are availed against easy rates.
Academics & Faculty :
For the 1st year I had morning classes from (9 a.m- 1 p.m) with breaks in between, however, sometimes it is extended till 3 p.m - 4 p.m in the noon. Now, in the second year, I have afternoon session starting from 12 noon till 5 in the evening. With a gap of 45mins for lunch. There is one mid-term examination, two assignment one before and after mid-term, and finally the end term. Professors here use both the traditional and modern teaching equipments, from pen tab to projector to white board. They provide with student friendly notes made by them, to make learning easy. Routinely, they take evaluation, presentation to keep a check on the students. The overall learning experience in the university is really good, the teachers are very approachable, friendly and is always at per with the students. There are regular mentor-mentee meetings, to help the students.
Clubs & Associations :
There are a lot of clubs ranging from the psycology club to the fashion club, the dance club, the debate society, you name it, we have it. Apart from that majority of the students are an active part of the NSS and the Rotary Club which arranges event on almost every occasion, plus you also get participation certificate. The annual fest of RUAS is abhivyakti times filled with fun . There are other fests organised by the other faculties which provide sample opportunity to grow and develop our skills. The college life is filled with fun and enthusiasm. Sometimes classes do get hectic but then you get the hang of it and start enjoying every bit.
