Lack of Campus Diversity

Currently, Presidency University, Bangalore only admits Indian nationals. Nevertheless, their mission is to provide quality education irrespective of one's caste, creed, race, gender, and social status. Although they have provided no data regarding the student’s share in the campus on the mentioned parameters.

An essential aspect to note is that they have separately set up grievance cells for caste based discrimination, anti-ragging, equal opportunities, quality assurance cell, and more. This is unlike many other private universities, who do not strive to create such efforts.

Shortage of Campus Activities

Presidency University, Bangalore, currently organizes a few fests and student’s activities. They only seem to hold only a management fest known as Cerebrum. This is a crucial area where the administration needs to focus. College festivals form an integral part of a student’s life on campus. It makes the campus vibrant and helps student’s develop skill sets.

Transportation Hassle

Presidency University, Bangalore is located at the outskirts of the city. Hence when it comes to daily commute, it poses a tedious job. Transportation facilities are provided by the college only to the hosteller for the weekends. For day scholars, it is a hassle to reach the campus daily. Around 80% of students who meet the eligibility criteria for interviews are placed annually. There will be several meetings with alumni on the campus who will share their experiences with the students and motivate them to be successful.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I had a telephonic interview; they assessed my communication skills. I haven't taken any examinations like CAT, MAR, or PGCET. However, they have mentioned that 60% of UG will be encouraged.

Fees & Scholarships : As a management quota student, I have a fee structure of INR 3 LPAfor the students who join through entrance exams will have a different fee structure PGCET:- 1.75 LPA Several scholarships are available for students holding more than 70% of their previous degrees, including SSC, PUC, and UG. Loans can be availed easily. A letter will be provided from the college, which consists of university details.

Academics & Faculty : Classes start at 8:45 am for MBA end at 4:45 pm(differs on the day). Assignments will be given frequently, as we completed our 2nd Semester in just 2 months, which was not sufficient for the students and made them feel more stressed because of continuous assessments conducted on every subject. Placements & Internships : I haven't gone through placements as I am still in the 3rd sem, but I heard most companies that visit for recruitment have marketing-based jobs.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I had written PGCET and got in through counseling. 50% marks in UG and a rank under 10000 were the eligibility criteria for the PGCET exam.

Fees & Scholarships : My fee through PGCET is INR 1.5 LPA, and the total fee through management quota is around INR 6 (excluding transport or hostel fee).

Academics & Faculty : The classes starts from 8:45 am and goes upto 4:45pm with a lunch break of 30 mins, which is very less. All classes are jam packed and I am totally exhausted by the time I reach home. We have 2 exams per sem, mid-term with 2 subjects per day, one in the morning and one more in the afternoon, and end-term has one subject per day. There are no gaps or study holidays in between exams which is very big concern.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : The hostel fee is some where between 1-1.5 lakh per annum. There are few PG's located just outside the university, but there are hardly any rooms vacant. Food in college canteen is ok there are other cafes inside the campus but they charge you a lot.

Clubs & Associations : There are various clubs like dance, music, speakers, anchoring etc. A student gets to choose any one of it and becomes a member.  The MBA dept organizes a Management fest called CEREBRUM and there is also anothe big cultural fest for all the different depts called INVINCIA. Overall, the students will have to go through schedules and rules set by the management.
