Infrastructure Facilities:

Library:

• The library of PSGIMS&R boasts excellent facilities and ample spaces with lots of natural light for quiet reading, group collaboration, individual research and recreational reading.
• The library has a total seating capacity of 280.
• There are about 15,000 textbooks (regular and reference) and 4500 back volumes.
• 392 foreign journals (including 250 online versions)
• 100 Indian journals are subscribed.
• The library media center offers MEDLARS SERVICE (a medical and allied health database), International Pharmaceutical Abstracts Service, Proquest online database and regular internet service.
• Abundant clinical information including surgical procedures, clinical situations etc is recorded and available as audio/video tapes, and compact disks.
• A good number of reference books are available at the departmental libraries also.
• The library works on all days from 8.00 am to 12.00 midnight. Facilities for photocopying are available in-house. Book bank facilities are offered to some of the students.

Hostel:

• 320 twin sharing rooms for men and women students.
• 372 additional rooms for interns and postgraduates.
• Scientifically designed, fully automated, hygienic kitchen and a buffet mess operating on a dividing system.
• Fully mechanized laundry.
• Continuous water supply with a reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
• 24-hour electricity supply with generator back-up.
• Separate television viewing hall.
• Reading room with all leading newspapers and periodicals.
• Telephone booth, indoor games hall, well-equipped gymnasium, sprawling playfields and round- the-clock canteen facility.

Sports:

• Sport is an integral part of life at PSGIMS&R. Participation in team sports, healthy competition and skills development are essential elements in the development of well-balanced, young medical graduates.
• A strong sense of sportsmanship and fair play is fostered among the whole student community.
• The institution boasts extensive sporting fields including football and cricket fields, an artificial surface for basketball, volleyball, tennis and other games with permanent floodlight facilities. Kho-kho, ball badminton, handball, throw ball and tennikoit courts are available.
• A clean, accurately calibrated ground for track and field events is also available.
• There is a large gymnasium, fully equipped with weights and resistance training equipment.
• Indoor games such as table tennis, chess and carom are provided in the hostels and in the department of Physical Education.
• All the sporting activities are supervised by qualified physical directors. Intramural and intercollegiate sports and games meets are held regularly.

Canteen:

• Canteen facility for staff and students is available on campus.
• The canteen complex houses a milk kiosk, fruit station, bakery, grocery store and a hygienic restaurant.
• The facilities are extended for 24 hours during examinations.
• The canteen is a welcome break for most of the students and is the daily hob-nob after class hours.
