Silicon University, Odisha Scholarship Details

Fees & Scholarships :

Fees & Scholarships : Silicon Institute of Technology, [SIT] Bhubaneswar Engineering Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 1.8 lakh per year. I don't think there are any scholarship options available because no such exams are conducted for scholarship purpose or something like that. Yes, most of the students are studying by taking a study loan. Even my parents have also taken the same from UCO Bank.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get into Silicon Institute of Technology, the college had a specific cut-off JEE Main ranks for its every branch. But to get into its B. Tech degree we had to first appear for JEE Main exams and through its rank, we could get into this college. Among the list of all Private colleges under Jee this was one of the best you can get. My branch is Electronics and Communication Engineering which I got through my Jee rank and this branch's cut-off is around 4-6 lakhs.

Placements & Internships : I am in the 2nd year right now and haven't done any internships but will be doing sooner. Mostly IT companies come to our campus for placements of the students and hiring them. Most of the students get placed in some of the other company.

Academics & Faculty : Class timing is a good but very hectic schedule. Small projects we have been doing with our teachers' help. Semester Exams are conducted under the Biju Pattnaik University of Technology. Internal exams and assignments are taken by our college at the right time. Quality and method of teaching is good and as far as I have heard is much better than the rest of the private and government colleges. So in all aspects, our college is not at all bad.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Our college has 3 hostels- 1 Girl's Hostel and 2 Boy's Hostel. Hostels can be more well maintained on regular basis and it's infrastructure should be improved more. We should have provisions of having Ac & Non-Ac hostels. And the size of rooms we have in our hostel, 2 people should share a room instead of 3. Hostel fee is Ok. I have no idea about the PGs outside college. Food of our college is Ok kind not much good, can be better. Per month our canteen is around Rs. 2700-3000, which is high according to me. Our college should improve its infrastructure especially of the class rooms of our department. The condition of our classrooms are highly disappointing. Labs are good and well equipped. Library is good but I belief atleast a Library should AC if not the classrooms. Non-veg canteen Dining hall should be kept more hygienic. Wi-fi is another major thing which our college lacks and need to provide to the students.

Clubs & Associations : Our college has different clubs for a different purpose. It has Students council, clubs such as Music club, Theatre club, Creative Club, Meta-Academics, placement cell, TedX association, and our hostel has a Campus-kife Coordination Committee and many more. Our college conducts lots of events with the help of these clubs such as Rhythmnova (a musical night), Cultural nite, MUNs, Annual sports and the annual fest of our college- Noesis (Tech-fest) & Zygon (Cultural festival). Life in Silicon is good if you have got some talents to showcase and have got something in you to get recognition in this college. And with friends college life is amazing.
