Established in 1969, SKCET is located in Coimbatore, Karnataka. It is a private institution recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). 

SKCET is affiliated with Anna University. It has obtained the 67th rank in the NIRF ranking 2023 among All Indian Universities, demonstrating its excellence in the education field. Furthermore, the university has achieved NIRF rankings in several other disciplines highlighting its academic excellence.

The institute offers 5 programmes such as BE, Tech, MBA, Integrated M.Tech, and PhD at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate levels.
