College life was enjoyable and offered a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. The campus has various student clubs and societies focused on technical skills, entrepreneurship, cultural activities, sports, music, dance, photography, and social service, allowing students to explore their interests and develop new skills. The university regularly organizes cultural fests, technical events, sports tournaments, workshops, seminars, and guest lectures, which create a vibrant campus atmosphere. Students get ample opportunities to participate in competitions, leadership activities, and networking events. The social environment is friendly and diverse, helping students build strong friendships and professional connections. Overall, my campus experience was positive, though increasing industry collaborations and expanding placement opportunities could further enhance the student experience.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Admission to my course was based on Class 12 marks and the SRMJEEE entrance exam (for engineering programs). Candidates must have passed 10+2 with the required subjects and minimum aggregate marks as specified by the university. The application form was available online on the university website, and the application fee was around ₹1,200. Cut-offs vary each year depending on the course and competition level. The admission process was smooth, involving application submission, entrance exam/merit evaluation, document verification, and fee payment. I did not avail any reservation benefits.
Fees & Scholarships :
The fee structure for my course was approximately ₹1.5–2.5 lakh per year, depending on the specialization and academic year. Additional charges included examination, hostel, and other miscellaneous fees. The university offers merit-based scholarships based on Class 12 scores, entrance exam performance, and academic achievements. Financial assistance is also available for deserving students through various scholarship schemes. Campus placements are decent, with companies from IT, management, and core sectors visiting the university. Internship and job opportunities are regularly provided through the placement cell, helping students gain industry exposure and career opportunities.
Academics & Faculty :
The course curriculum was well-structured and covered both theoretical concepts and practical applications, making it relevant to current industry requirements. Regular assignments, projects, workshops, and presentations helped enhance learning. The faculty members were knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable, with good expertise in their respective subjects. Most professors used interactive teaching methods, including case studies, practical demonstrations, and classroom discussions. The faculty-to-student ratio was satisfactory, allowing proper academic guidance. Exams were conducted on schedule, and adequate study materials, notes, and online resources were provided to help students prepare effectively. Overall, the academic environment was conducive to learning and skill development.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The university has a modern campus with well-maintained infrastructure, including spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, high-speed Wi-Fi, computer centers, seminar halls, and a well-stocked library with both physical and digital resources. Sports facilities, cafeterias, and recreational areas are also available for students. The hostel facilities are decent, offering furnished rooms with essential amenities such as Wi-Fi, security, laundry, and common recreation areas. The mess provides a variety of meals with satisfactory quality and hygiene standards. For students preferring off-campus accommodation, PGs and rented rooms are available near the campus at reasonable rates, with easy access to transportation and daily necessities.
Placements & Internships :
The university provides good placement and internship opportunities through its dedicated placement cell. Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year, while internship opportunities are offered from earlier semesters to help gain practical industry experience. Several reputed companies from IT, consulting, management, and core sectors visit the campus for recruitment. Common roles offered include Software Developer, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Marketing Executive, and Management Trainee. The average package generally ranges between ₹4–6 LPA, while higher packages are offered to exceptional candidates. The placement cell also conducts training sessions, mock interviews, aptitude tests, and skill-development programs to improve students' employability. Overall, the university provides a supportive environment for career growth and professional development.
