Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech:

For General Category:

Admissions under this category is open to all individuals except NRIs(People of Indian Origin), Foreign Nationals.
Applicants wanting to be considered under the Sports quota are requested to choose the different category.
Selection of candidates will be based on the Qualifying marks (Q) obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2 or equivalent.
Q = M + ((P+C) / 2), where M, P and C are percentage marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively.
Selection is solely on Merit.

For Sports Category:

Candidate should be 10+2 qualified.
Following Sports, Proficient People are accepted.

Admissions are offered to People of Indian Origin/Foreign Nationals under PIO/FN quota. People of Indian origin should have a valid OCI/PIO card.

Form – I- For representing the country (India) in the International Competitions recognized by Indian Olympic Association

Form – II-For representing the State in a national competition organized by recognized national Association in India affiliated to Sports Authority of India / Indian Olympic Association.

Form – IV-For representing the state school team in the National School Games Competition organized by School Games Federation of India (SGFI).

PIO/FN:

Attested copy of the valid passport of the candidate
Attested copy of the valid Visa / PIO card of the candidate
Equivalence certificate issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai – 600025
Proof of having studied the required qualifying subjects in English medium

NRI:

NRI status certificate of the father or mother (financial supporter) issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country in ORIGINAL.
Sponsorship letter from the financial supporter stating that he/she will financially support the education of the candidate
Employment certificate of the financial supporter issued by the foreign employer
Relationship certificate of the financial supporter obtained from the Tahsildar
Attested copy of NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account statement for last 3 months transaction of the financial supporter
Attested copy of the valid Indian Passport of the NRI financial supporter

Placements & Internships : I have interned in Apollo Group of Hospitals and Billroth Hospital during my summer and winter quarter. Mu Sigma, Microsoft, Dove, Saint Gobain, L&T, Philips, Caterpillar are some of the key companies that hire from our campus regularly. 91% or more get placed every academic year and the average salary package is approximately INR 5 lakhs per annum. Alumni network activities are one of the best things happening at SSN. They are invited once in a month to assist students in developing their profile and giving them an insight into the recent trends available abroad.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The student must pass the 12th-grade with good percentage. The admission is purely based on merit. SSN also enrolls students under management quota through screening the applicants via an entrance examination and a personal interview. And particularly for my course, the minimum cutoff required is 197.75. I was admitted under management quota as my performance in both entrance examination and the interview was good.

Academics & Faculty : Class starts at 8:00 am till 3:40 pm. You don't have assignments pressure at SSN. Projects are done regularly.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are hostels for both boys and girls. Food services here is good. The cost of food is INR 35 per meal. Each and every department has State of art laboratories with the adequate number of equipment. Excellent wifi connection all over the campus, beautiful library, sports complex meeting international standards are some exciting things at SSN.

Clubs & Associations : There are various student-run clubs at SSN like entrepreneurship development cell, English literary club, SSN-MUN, music club, dance club, IEEE association, NSS, YRC, Tamil Mandram. All these clubs conduct various flagship events every semester. Instincts is the cultural event that records a footfall of around 20,000 with interesting and amazing events.
