The Eligibility criteria for postgraduates and undergraduates courses: 

The college of Swami Ramanand Tirth Rural Government Medical College, [SRTRMCA] Ambajogai offers the Doctorate of Medicine [MD], the requirements for applicants are based on the following:

  • The aspirants have to successfully pass his/her 10+2 secondary or higher secondary exam with a minimum of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. 

  • The cap of repetitions for appearing in the exams has been removed by CBSE and also being appreciated by NEET.

  • The student must have successfully completed their MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from a reputed college or institution. MBBS is a 5½ years course and includes a one-year internship period as well.
  • After that, the person is eligible to go for MD in his chosen field.

  • Provided that wherever entrance test for Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.)admission is held by the State Government or a University or any other authorized examining a body.

  • The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility for admission to the postgraduate medical course will be 50% for General category candidates and 40% for the candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.


The Eligibility criteria for postgraduates and undergraduates course:

  • As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post-Graduate regulations 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post-Graduate courses shall be 50% for all candidates and for SC, ST, Category-I & OBC the eligibility will be 40%.

  • Most state government-affiliated programs at the M.S. level accept 50% of students based on the national examination and 50% based on state examinations. 

  • In addition, 50% of positions are also reserved in most states for physicians belonging to the economically underprivileged segments of Indian society as specified in the Indian Constitution.

  • The foreign nationals are required to send their applications routed through Diplomatic Channels.

  • They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination along with other regular candidates.

  • Some Institutes will only conduct admission on the basis of qualifying examination marks.

  • The foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised under the 'Sponsored' category.


  • To obtain MBBS admission the basic criteria is that a candidate should have scored more than 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology aggregate in their 10+2 grade.

  • To get medical school entry, there will be no state-level exam conducted for admission in MBBS & BDS courses from the year 2017 and all the state-level medical entrance tests have been merged into NEET examination (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) which is one of the most sought national level examination conducted by the CBSE board.
  • AIIMS is a medical entrance examination conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. With this examination, the candidate is given admission to the undergraduate medical courses (MBBS). Also, the ones who want to pursue MBBS course from the institutions of AIIMS can apply for this exam.

  • JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) regulates the medical entrance examination for the admission in MBBS program and students can get admission in JIPMER, Puducherry & JIPMER, Karaikal campuses through this exam.

  • The university-level medical entrance exams are JIPMER, St John's MBBS (St. John's Medical Entrance Test), CMC Vellore MBBS (CMC Vellore MBBS/BDS Admissions), DU MBBS (Delhi University MBBS/BDS Admissions), etc.

  • A basic requirement for applying for medical entrance tests is that the student should be at least 17 years old on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Upper age limit, where specified is 25 years.

  • Typically, Written tests have questions from physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology). In general, the mix of questions is such that they focus on biology, which is a combination of zoology and botany, which is as much as that on physics and chemistry together.

  • Most of the time there is negative marking for a wrong answer. This would be indicated in the information bulletin or prospectus. Some medical entrance tests also have a few questions on general knowledge, personality and intelligence assessment or English language.
