Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

• All students require 10+ 2 (or equivalent) in Science with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics/ Technical Vocational Course
• The student can be from CBSE, ICSE or any other board which is considered as equivalent by the University of Mumbai as well as Directorate of Technical Education Government of Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech

• Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree from any recognized University in India.
• Candidate must have done a graduation course for at east 4 years.
• Candidate must have graduated with 50% aggregate.
• Candidate must have studied a stream relevant to the one they are applying for now during the undergraducate course.

Application Process for B.Tech, M.Tech

• The pre-application form is available on the website and can be downloaded from there
• There are no application charges.
• Candidate should send a scanned copy of the application and the required documents to internationalapplications@somaiya.edu and a copy marked to the Principal at principal.engg@somaiya.edu.
• The completed Pre-Application form along with copies of the required documents, mentioned in the checklist of the application form, can be sent by post/courier/speed post to the University.

• Migration Certificate
• School Leaving Certificate 
• Letter issued by employer of the NRI Parent/ Sponsor
• Scanned copy of Passport of the Student & Parent / Sponsor including visa pages/ work permit
• Letter from Branch manager of the branch in which you are holding NRE/ NRO account. (No need of bank statement).
• If you have an account in a foreign bank, letter from that branch manager is required.
• Two Passport size photograph
• Gap certificate ( if applicable)
• A letter signed by NRI parent/ sponsor mentioning educational sponsorship.
• Provisional Eligibility Certificate from the University of Mumbai (only if the board of 12th or equivalent is OTHER THAN CBSE/ ICSE/ Maharashtra state board)
• NOC from the University of Mumbai (applicable for Foreign Nationals / PIO)

Additional Documents to be submitted by NRI

• Letter from the Indian Embassy, where the parent is/ are working, indicating the NRI status of the parent.

Additional Document to be submitted by PIO 

• Scanned copy of Passport issued by the country of citizenship of the Student & Parent / Sponsor including visa pages/ work permit
• Scanned copy of PIO / OCI card

Admission Process for B.Tech, M.Tech

• Once the required documents are sent, the student will be registered it and will be allotted an application number. will be informed to the student by e.mail on the address provided in the form.

• The DTE is the Competent Authority for admission to First Year Engineering. The candidates are hereby informed to prepare for the All India JEE Main (Paper 1. The Score of MHT – CET and HSC Marks shall be considered for preparing the Merit List.
• The candidates are hereby informed to prepare for the All India JEE Main Paper 1. The Score of MHT – CET and HSC Marks shall be considered for preparing the Merit List.

• CET appearance is compulsory.
• Admissions are direct, based on merit as per the marks/grades obtained in the qualifying examination.
• However their registration in DTE authorized centre is essential.
