The college has experienced spectacular growth over the past 2 decades and the present total strength of the Degree College [Science & Commerce] is 7587 and the Junior Section is of 5867 students. The management is constantly committed to training and retraining of educationists to enhance the competencies and improve learning resources such as laboratories, libraries, etc.

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Facilities

Thakur College Kandivali has many of the necessary facilities that are required for the students in the campus for better academics. The infrastructure provided by Thakur College is always best for the scholars on the campus.

The college provides a library for students to gain information for various needs. It has a total collection of books 51379, 54 journals & magazines, 11 newspapers & 2306 CD-ROMs and the digital library is well-equipped with the latest infrastructure of computers, headphones & CDs. Library also provides Book Bank Scheme for economically backward and needy students. Thakur College encourages its students to take up sports to be fit and follow a healthy lifestyle for that the college conducts many sports fests.

The college has its own cricket and football grounds and basket and volleyball courts with floodlights, they also have indoor games facilities like table tennis hall and chess and carrom boards. The huge yoga hall for students is also one of the highlights of things on the campus. The canteen that serves good food in multiple cuisines, seminar halls, and computer labs also gives the students different learning experiences.

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Rankings

For the past years, TCSC has gained many of the stunning achievements and rankings from different organizations for standing best among the other institutions in the country. In a study “most Trusted Institutes” (MTEI) considered by the prestigious research group, Trust Advisory, Thakur College ranks 15th amongst all the college / educational institutions in India.

Thakur College also dominated several individual parameters like – overall teaching (10th rank) developing student personality (3rd rank), most trusted institution (27th rank), Post-graduation category(10th rank).

TCSC Student Activities

Thakur College Of Science & Commerce Mumbai Maharashtra is not just about academics itself but composed of many student activities that are very much supportive and encouraging to the students on the campus, which helps in both the personal and professional growth of a student. Year by year many activities are conducted on the campus by the college and by students. Many Intra- Inter college fests, Sports fests, Cultural Fests, Arts fests, etc. are conducted by TCSC every year.

CORTOKINO Thakur's own International Short Film Fest, TRISHNA the Arts Fest, The Intra college fest TARKASH, AAGAZ, etc. are the main events that happen in the college. As the institution gives more preference to sports many sports items such as Football, Cricket, etc. Tournaments are also conducted on the campus.

Programs from different departments, Science fests, Commerce fests, etc. are also being conducted on the Thakur College. Seminars and presentations are also very much informative to the students. The cultural fests are always a venue for the cultural exchange of students from different places.

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Placements

Thakur College is always alert to give the best placements to the students from reputed organizations. There have been 27 Campus Placement drives arranged in 2017-2018. 3 Pool Campus Placement drives arranged in 2017-2018, as a result, a total of 227 students were placed in the academic year 2017-2018.

With the help of an excellent Thakur College Of Science and Commerce Placement Cell, a total of 195 students were placed in the academic year 2016-2017. Year by year the flow of major companies to the campus is increasing and the students are getting very much comfortable with the placement. Special training for interviews and placement has been given to the students in the leadership of Placement Cell as well as faculties of different departments. Students were placed in Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra JP Morgan, ATOS, etc for the past years.

TCSC Fees

The fee structure offered by Thakur College Of Science and Commerce is very much affordable for the students. If needed Thakur College will allow students to take the loan from banks for the payment.

For Management course BMS the course fees for 3 years is INR 1,56,990 and for B Com the fees for 3 years is INR 1,60,932, on the other hand, the bachelor program B Sc demands a fees structure of INR 1,81,470  for 3 Years

For Post-graduation programs such as M Sc, the fee is INR 89,705 for two years, and for M Com the fees would be INR 56,000 for two years. 

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Scholarships

Many scholarship opportunities are provided by Thakur College especially for students who are having excellent academic as well as sports background. Government scholarships for students who belong to the minority category are also there.

Based on sports quota scholarships to the students from the sports background are given and for students having outstanding academic results, scholarships will be given on a merit basis. Other than these many Government/ Non Government scholarships are provided for the eligible students.

For scholarships, students are requested to carry the relevant documents with them.

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Eligibility Criteria

For joining TCSC, the applicants should satisfy certain eligibility criteria. Listed below are the eligibility criteria required for students to join the institution.

Thakur College of Science and Commerce Admissions

All Thakur College of Science and Commerce admissions are provisional, subject to the approval of the University of Mumbai and are granted as per the statutes and direction issued by the University of Mumbai from time to time. The admission will be based on merit and the score of the previous academics is also being considered. students who are eligible from the Thakur College will get preference.

For UG applicant marks from their 10th/12th were considered for admission and for applicants who seek admission for PG, their marks from their graduation are taken into account. The eligible qualification earned by students should be recognized by a valid authority. All applicants should satisfy the eligibility constraints.

Admissions will be only based on the norms of the institution and the rules of the University Of Mumbai. Admissions via sports quota are also there. Students who belong to the minority category get concessions and seats which are allotted.

TCSC Cut off

There exist cut off standards in Thakur College for each course. Students are sorted on the basis of cut off scores or percentages. The cut off will be based on the previous academic performance of the students and it is very much important as well as, so students who wish to take the admission in the college will undergo cut off procedures and the final results will be declared at the time of admission.

For students who belong to the minority, category has a concession on their cut off score. So marks scored by the students in their previous academics are very much valid here.

TCSC Hostel

A hostel facility is available in Thakur College for both Boys and girls with all the basic requirements. Thakur College of Science and Commerce Facilities always ensure the students are getting all the needful in the hostels.

The hostel of Thakur college provides all basic facilities like freshwater, hostel mess serving North-South as well as Chinese cuisines, laundry facility, clean and hygienic environment, transportation facilities, etc.
