Placements & Internships : This is my first internship and is being paid a stipend of rupees 5k. Most of the time it is the IT companies which will be visiting the college for the recruitment process. The average salary package that will be offered on campus recruitment is around 3.5 lakh per anum. There is just an average network with alumni.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for B.tech was 40% and above in the PCM (physics, chemistry, maths). During the pre-university education, the admissions process goes according to which is specified by the pre-university education board. I have taken the common entrance test (CET) to get the engineering or B.tech government seat. The cutoffs for the course varies based on the college we prefer.

Fees & Scholarships : The tuition fee per year is 75K out of which 50K is the government fee and 25K will be the college fee. There are various scholarships available through the government throughout the education period, but from college, there will be scholarships given to the eligible students through the college management. From the management of the college, there will be around 20% of the students who will be getting the scholarships. Bank loans will be provided only for the students with the poor family background else it is an affordable amount. Education loans will be provided from any of the banks there will be a minimal process to get the loan from the banks.

Academics & Faculty : College timings will be from 8.30 am to 4.00pm sometimes the college hours vary according to the time table allocated for a particular department and the semester. There will be 2 mini projects for the academic marks in pre-final year and a major project in the final year. There will be assignments given regularly and also marks has been allotted for it. The quality of the education and the method of teaching is very good. The college has got good management and teaching staff, they are very supportive of the students. The overall experience at the college is good.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is one girl's hostel inside the campus and one boy's hostel which is away from the campus, the hostel fee is paid at once for the entire year and the mess charges should be paid monthly on an average of both the mess charges and the room rent it costs around 5K per month. There are a number of PGs available around the college and the cost varies according to the number of sharings. The college has got a mess in the hostel, it costs 85 rupees per day for breakfast, lunch, tea/milk and dinner. The key infrastructure not up to the mark but they provide a quality teaching with the available infrastructure

Clubs & Associations : There are a number of clubs associated in the college for cultural and sports. There will be one main cultural fest in even semester and sports fest in the odd semester. The college is more concerned with academics and the extracurricular will be encouraged only during the fest time, the overall experience in the college is too good and the lectures are also friendly with the students

Placements & Internships : I was a part of various placement training programs organized by the Vemana Institute of Technology in the past 2 years. The placement officer is a hard-working individual who makes quite a lot of efforts in order to bring companies to the college in order to get students placed into various job positions that are offered by the companies. Technical workshops, as well as soft-skills workshops, are diligently organized by the placement cell. This helps students in sharpening their skills that they need to. However, the college can be more involved in terms of funding more placement related activities in terms of preparing the students for the industry they are going to work for. Major jobs for the Computer Science department were 1. Software Developer. 2. Tester. 3. Front end and Back end developer. 4. Technical and Non-Technical support. Average Salaries ranged from 2 LPA to 6 LPA.  Around 55-65% of the eligible candidates who apply for the job get placed.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : At the time of my joining Vemana Institute of Technology in 2013, it was a well-established Engineering college located in Koramangala. The eligibility criteria in terms of joining the institute were not available as a strict regiment. C.E.T rankings for Engineering in various courses starting from Mechanical to Civil were accepted for students who have secured ranks well beyond 65000. Since I joined as a management student, I didn't have to go through any filtering process.  Vemana Institute of Technology had 3 conventional modes of admissions during my entrance period into the institution,  1. KCET (Common Entrance Test) 2. COMEDK. 3. Management. The typical cutoffs for KCET were pretty lenient as students with really high rankings as far as 65000 were admitted into my course (CSE) especially with the number of rounds that were available. COMEDK had a lenient cutoff, as well as ranks between 17000 and 40000, were also accepted in the college. Management had the only criteria being the amount of money ready to be shelled out.

Fees & Scholarships : Vemana Institute of Technology, [VIT] Bangalore Management Fee Structure. Fees of Vemana Institute of Technology is INR 1.5 lakhs per year. KCET students had to pay INR 45,000 per year. COMEDK students paid INR 1,37,000 per year. Various scholarship options were available for students. Every semester, the FCD (First Class with Distinction) holders from all departments were awarded various cash prizes. Any students from the SC/ST categories, as well as the OBC categories, were provided with the opportunity of various scholarships and opportunities. Students with parents working in the defense were also provided with opportunities of availing various scholarships. An average of 50 out of 120 students from every batch availed scholarships during my stay.

Academics & Faculty : The Daily routine is good an well planned out. Students are not given too much to do and are provided with a schedule that is not very hectic or draining in terms of mental stimulation. Classes begin at 8:30 am sharp and end at 4:30 pm. However every department and class may have varying timings.  The college functions 6 days a week starting from Monday and ending on Saturdays. Any odd Sunday might be declared a working day based on a holiday that had to declared that was initially a working day. Of all departments, Information Science (IS) has the best time-table and department in terms of rapport with students.  The Quality of education can be much better than it already is and they have a huge room for improvement. The teachers need to be well versed with their communication skills and vocabulary as they sometimes put students in confusion with their accents and words. The concepts too are not very well explained and even if they are, it's not enough and requires more in-depth understanding and thought process. One big negative of some courses here is that a lot of electives that originally are available are not undertaken as there are teachers who are not well versed with the subject and do not even offer them as electives. My overall experience in terms of education in college was Satisfactory. Students who work hard and study at least an hour on a daily basis can excel here.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Hostels are not available for boys within the campus, their hostel is situated in JC Road which is 10 km away from the college. Girls have a hostel that is located inside the college, however, the positioning of the hostel is right at the main entrance which kills their privacy. The college is located right next to the Koramangala B.D.A complex and covers a good area of land and has the RJS school right behind it. RJS is the Reddy Jana Sangha that is the governing body of all RJS institutions including Vemana Institute of Technology. Infrastructure wise, the college is decent. It has well-equipped classrooms with the supply of electricity for at least 6 hours of the 8 working hours. Laboratories are sufficient and are well equipped with all components. However, CSE laboratories could use much better keyboards than those that are available as students might lose a finger due to some keys imitating potholes at times. The library is very well equipped with almost all books that have been prescribed and also has been equipped with a digital library. The canteen is not available as of now and is in the building phase, however, one can expect good things to happen and the college to be revamped soon as it has been recently remodeled. There is no ground for sports like Cricket, Football, Hockey or teams that require more than 5 players per team.

Clubs & Associations : There are a few committees that are governing various walks of student talents.  There are cultural committees that are responsible for activities that are dance, emceeing, singing and much more stage events. There are committees that are responsible for social events such as coordinating with NGOs and social work. There are teams for Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, Kabaddi, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Chess. The college fest named Vemanotsav was the recent large scale attraction that took place this year. It was the first inter-college fest organized by the college. It was very well organized and had a decent number of participating colleges. A successful event all in all. The college sports day usually takes place in the St Johns Ground on an annual basis and involves events such as athletic events and team games.

Placements & Internships : There are no internships provided by the college. Most of the companies visit here are start-ups and pool campuses for Infosys, HP. Average salary would be in the range of INR 2lpa to INR 4lpa depending on which company a student gets placed. The average percentage of students getting placed would be around 50%.

Fees & Scholarships : The college fee is INR 17000/- per year with the government fees about 35000/- so total around 52000/- per year which has to be paid at the beginning of every year. The scholarship is available for sc/sc and a category students. And also scholarships for those who score FCD(above 70)in both the sems in the respective year. The average number of the students getting scholarship would depend on the students eligible for scholarships. There is ICICI and Karnataka bank nearby college which is helpful for paying fees and etc..

Academics & Faculty : College timing starts from 8.30 and ends around 4.30 according to Clases and labs held. Teaching is quite good but too strict . Overall I would say the college is for those who are solely into academic.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is girl's hostel in the college campus, hostel fees are around  INR 45000/- excluding mess charges. Plenty of PGs available as the college in Koramangala the PGs is quite expensive. The infrastructure is not that good.

Clubs & Associations : There are no clubs or any associations available, the college is more into academics. Though they conduct sports day and fests, compared t other colleges it's not good. The college lacks in extracurricular activities. They are only concerned about the student's marks.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria are simple that's PU in science, computer science would be preferable if you want to opt for CS or IS branch and appear CET exam. Admission procedure includes verification and applying for colleges online and direct admission once allocated to the respective college. The entrance examination for Vemana IT is CET and also one can join through management quota. The cut off for information science is around 55000 CET ranking.

Placements & Internships : I haven't done any internship. Reputed companies recruit students from our college usually for a non-technical job.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I took up KCET to become eligible for this course. Cut off is not very high and one must pass 12 std or equivalent to get eligible.

Fees & Scholarships : Scholarship options are available but it is limited to some extent. I don't know about the scholarship percentage.

Academics & Faculty : Timings are a little hectic. Teaching methods and quality are good. Overall experience in the college is ok.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is only one hostel on campus which cost is very high comparatively. Food provided in the mess is not eatable and it's not a good value for money.

Clubs & Associations : The main fests which are organized in our college are inter-college fests, sports day is also conducted by our college. Life in the college is average.
