Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik [YCMOU] is a UGC-approved and 5th open university established in 1989. University Grants Commission [UGC] has recognized YCMOU under section 12 [B] of the UGC Act, 1956; the Yaswantrao Chavan University has its headquarters at Nashik with Regional Centres at Mumbai, Amravati, Nagpur, Pune, Kolhapur, Nanded, Aurangabad, Nashik, and various study centres present all over the State of Maharashtra, the University is named after Yashwantrao Chavan, great political leader & builder of modern Maharashtra. The University has good infrastructure facilities with eight regional centres, Central Library with research materials, textbooks, reference books, journals, etc., satellite-based education, mobile learning vans for remote and faraway places, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, etc.; the University also supports sports and cultural activities for the students every year.
