The full form of AIEED is All India Entrance Examination for Design. This exam is conducted by the ARCH College of Design & Business for students willing to pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Design.
To reward deserving candidates, the conducting authority conducts the Scholarship Aptitude Test called AIEED SAT. However, only candidates who fulfil certain parameters will be eligible for this test. The elaborate details are discussed below.
AIEED-SAT 2022
The scholarship aptitude test will generally be held in the months of December or January. The exam will take place after the AIEED exam. Candidates have to fulfil any of the following parameters given below to take this test.
- The parameters considered will be the candidate's performance in the AIEED exam.
- The performance of the candidate in 12th or UG final exam and PG final exam will be considered.
Scholarship Eligibility - Other Cases
A student is considered eligible in certain other cases like the following.
- if the candidate's parent is in the defence or armed forces.
- if the candidate's parent is an artisan
- Or if the candidate happens to be the son or daughter of a single mother.
- Or if the candidate belongs to a weaker section of the society.
Remember the scholarship will only be provided on the first come first serve basis which ideally means an eligible candidate must make sure he or she applies for the exam otherwise another eligible candidate who is in the waiting list will be given the scholarship.
Bank Loans
Most of the leading banks and financial institutions will provide loans for the candidates after verifying and checking the credentials of the parent. The credentials include income and credit history.
Students have to submit a supporting letter from the college to the bank to get the required loan amount.
The college will not provide any loans to a candidate. It will only provide the supporting letter to the candidate for taking the loan.
AIEED 2022 Important Dates
To take up the SAT exam, a candidate has to take the AIEED exam. The dates related to AIEED 2022 are given below for your reference. Interested candidates can apply for the exam before the last date of registration.

Courses offered through AIEED SAT
The programmes offered through the AIEED SAT exam are classified into three categories. Undergraduate Degree Courses, International Study Abroad Degree (3+1+1 YEARS) and Postgraduate degree courses. The courses offered are tabulated here below clearly.

AIEED 2022 Eligibility
Candidates aspiring to take up AIEED Exam to pursue courses in the design must fulfil the following criteria. The criteria are divided as per the course taken by the candidate.
Undergraduate Programs
Interested aspirants should have passed or appeared for Class 10+2 (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State Board/NIOS or as approved by UGC guidelines) to take AIEED 2022 . Moreover, candidates appearing in 10+1 class exam can also appear for AIEED exam. But those candidates can join only after clearing the 3rd and last stage of the test.
Postgraduate Programs
Candidates willing to do a postgraduate program in the design must have completed a UG degree from a recognized university or college.
AIEED Registration 2022
To register for the exam, you can visit the official website and fill the relevant details on the application form. After filling the registration form, the candidates must pay INR 3000 as the application fee through Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.
Steps to be followed
- Complete the registration process.
- Select the course and campus where you want to take admission.
- Next, fill all the personal and academic details.
- After that, you have to upload the documents in the application form.
- Finally, pay the application fee.
Structure of the AIEED Exam
The exam ideally takes place in three different stages. It generally comprises of General Aptitude Test, Creative Aptitude Test and Personal Interaction or Interview.
Stage 1 - GAT
Firstly students have to apply for the exam by making a video on introducing themselves and it must only be submitted online. This video must be submitted at least 7 days before the exam.
Also, there will be a General Aptitude Test (GAT). In this GAT, candidates will be tested on the following parameters: Design sensibilities, Logical Reasoning, design-related awareness, awareness on global issues, & Concepts Comprehension.
Stage 2 - CAT
The next exam that candidates must attend is the Creative Aptitude Test (CAT). Candidates have to express their creative skills in this test and the following aspects would be tested.
- Articulation Skills both written & visual
- Design Thinking
- Lateral Thinking & creative problem solving
- Awareness of Design Principles
Stage 3 - Personal Interaction
In the interview, skills like Composure, Focus & clarity, General Articulation skills, depth of thinking, range of work in the given portfolio will be tested.
