The CTET 2024 will be conducted on December 15, 2024. It will be the 20th edition of the CTET examination. Candidates are advised to utilise their exam revision strategies, as there is only a month left for the examination.

Earlier, the CTET 2024 application form for the December session was released on September 17, 2024, and could be filled out through the official website by October 16, 2024. The exam will be conducted on December 1, 2024. CTET Paper 1 will be held from 2:004:30 p.m p.m. The official CBSE CTET answer key 2024 for Papers 1 and 2 will also be available for download on the official website. Students must note that, as per the latest notification, the number of exam cities has been reduced to 136. Candidates could apply for CTET till October 16, 2024, giving them nearly a month to apply for the CTET examination.

To download the CTET 2024 admit card, candidates must enter their application number, date of birth as a password, and security pin provided at the time of registration for CTET login on the official website. The admit card contains details regarding the candidate's name, exam center, location, and CTET exam date # and year.

Candidates must carry the admit card to the examination hall on the day of the exam. Candidates who do not have a valid admit card will not be allowed to attend the examination.

How to Apply for CTET 2024?

Follow the step-by-step procedure below for the CTET 2024 form, fill it out, and apply.

  • Step 1: Candidates need to log in to the official CTET website at ctet.nic.in.
  • Step 2: Candidates then need to find the 'Apply Online' link and open the same.
  • Step 3: Upon landing on the next page, candidates need to fill in the required details. Once completed, note down the application number for future reference.
  • Step 4: After filling out the application form, the candidate needs to upload scanned images of recent photographs and a signature. Candidates must note that the signature should not be smudged.

CTET Eligibility 2024

The official notification will contain details related to CTET 2024 eligibility for each post. Candidates must make sure that they satisfy the educational requirements and the age limit criteria of the relevant post before applying for the exam. The eligibility criteria for primary and elementary teachers are given below, as is the age limit.

Educational Qualification for CTET 2024 Primary Teacher (Classes I to V) - Paper 1

The candidates who have any of the following educational qualifications can appear in paper 1 of CTET 2024.

  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who has passed or is appearing for the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 45% marks and who has passed or is appearing for the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations 2002. 
  • Candidate passing senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who has passed or is appearing for the final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • Candidate passing senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who has passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year diploma in education (D.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2024 Elementary Teacher (Classes VI to VIII) - Paper 2

The candidates can appear for CTET 2024 paper 2 if they have any of the following educational qualifications.

  • Candidates are passing graduation or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Candidates passing graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
  • Candidates passing graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed, per the NCTE Regulations.
  • Candidates passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • Candidates passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
  • Candidates completing graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

CTET 2024 Age Limit

As per the official notification, the aspiring candidates should be at least 18 and not more than 35. The candidature of candidates who do not satisfy CTET 2024 eligibility criteria will be canceled.

CTET Exam Pattern 2024

CTET 2024 exam is conducted offline. The CTET 2024 exam pattern has two papers, paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 aims to test the candidates' proficiency in languages and knowledge of psychology related to learning and teaching, along with other core subjects. Paper 2 will also have similar sections aimed at testing the candidates' skills.

Candidates can choose two languages out of the 5 available options. Candidates can choose to appear for either paper 1, paper 2, or both. Candidates who qualify for the written CTET 2024 exam will be called for the Interview process.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern for Classes I to V (Primary Stage)

CTET 2024 paper for the primary stage will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ). The first section, Child Development and Pedagogy, will be based on the educational psychology of teaching and learning of children of 6 to 11 years. The Language I section will focus on proficiency in the language of imparting instructions. Language II will be related to language, communication skills, and comprehension abilities.
