The Railway Recruitment Board decides the syllabus for the Assistant Loco Pilot post. The exam is conducted in three stages- CBT 1, CBT 2, and CBAT. Candidates are advised to go through the syllabus to get an idea about the questions asked in the examination. RRB ALP 2025 syllabus is divided into the first stage, second stage and CBAT. The syllabus of RRB ALP is different for different stages.
The detailed stage wise syllabus for RRB ALP 2025 is provided below for the candidate's reference. The CBT 2 Exam 2025 is set to be held on Mar 19-20, 2025. The applicants are advised to also go through the RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2025 to check the marking scheme and weightage of each section.
RRB ALP CBT 1 Syllabus 2025
The division of the Part A of the RRB ALP Syllabus 2025 is as follows:

Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.

General Awareness of Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.

RRB ALP CBAT Syllabus 2025
Candidates need to secure a minimum of 42 marks in each of the five test batteries. The CBAT comprises questions and answer options in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. No relaxation is permissible for this stage of selection.
