Minority scholarships are launched by the government and private bodies of India for academically brilliant students from minority communities deprived of quality education because of financial limitations. The minority scholarships are made available to students who belong to minority communities, which include Christians, Jain, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Zoroastrians (Parsi) and are provided with several opportunities to carry on with their studies. The last submission date for the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM) was July 31, 2023.

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
The Pre-matric scholarship scheme for minorities is an initiative of the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), government of India. The eligibility criteria for this minority scholarship includes students from classes 1 to 10 studying in renowned institutions with an annual family income of not more than INR 1,00,000 from all sources. The benefits include monetary rewards upto INR 600 per month.

Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
The Post-matric scholarship scheme for minorities is a minority scholarship scheme for the students from class 11 to PhD level, belonging to minority communities. This scholarship is also funded by MOMA (Ministry of Minority Affairs).The objective of this scholarship scheme is the upliftment in the educational level of the bright students of minority communities. Maximum rewards upto INR 1,200 per month are sanctioned by the government of India under post-matric scholarship scheme for minorities.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS
Merit-cum-Means scholarship for professional and technical courses CS for minorities is introduced by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), government of India. Specifically, this scholarship is granted to selected students who belong to minority communities and those who are pursuing professional or technical courses in India. Rewards upto INR 20,000 as well as maintenance allowance are sanctioned under this scholarship scheme.

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship
The Begum Hazrat Mahal National scholarship provides opportunities to women students belonging to minority communities and aims at providing quality education. This minority scholarship program is an initiative of the central government under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, government of India. The eligible candidates include minority girl students from classes 9th to 12th. Upto INR 6,000 financial help is granted to the applicants under the minority scholarship scheme.

Post-Matric Intermediate Scholarship for Minorities, Uttar Pradesh
Post-matric intermediate scholarship for minorities, Uttar Pradesh is a minority scholarship scheme launched by the state government for the domiciles of Uttar Pradesh. The eligible candidates should be students studying in class 11 and 12 belonging to the minority communities of Uttar Pradesh. The annual family earnings of the eligible students should not be greater than INR 2,00,000 per annum. Variable rewards entitled under this national scholarship scheme are presented to the qualified applicants.

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Programme
West Bengal talent support stipend programme is a minority scholarship program conducted by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC). The students of classes 9 and above who are domiciles of West Bengal can apply and benefit from this program. Up to INR 4,900 are granted as financial aid to the eligible candidates under West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Programme.

Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship scheme for minorities is managed by Minorities Development and Finance Corporation of West Bengal. It aims at providing financial help to the deserving applicants who are domiciles of West Bengal and are students of classes 11 and above. The rewards cover funding upto INR 8,000 per candidate.

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Award (PJMS), Kerala is a superlative effort by the Department of Minority Welfare, state government of Kerala, for the students of minority communities of Kerala. The bright students undertaking SSLC, +2 or any vocational higher secondary course in Kerala are eligible to avail the minority scholarship program. Up to INR 15,000 are entitled as rewards under Prof. Joseph Mundassery scholarship award (PJMS), Kerala.
