The post matric scholarship scheme for minorities is provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs [MOMA]. Students belonging to the minority community and studying from class XI to the PhD level can apply to the scholarship. The MOMA will cover the admission fee, tuition fee and provide maintenance allowance to the selected students. The aim is to uplift the minority students from economically weaker sections and provide them with an opportunity to pursue higher education by offering financial aid through the post matric scholarship scheme for minorities.
Around 30% of the scholarship is reserved for female candidates. If the allocated percentage of the pre-matric scholarship scheme for minorities is not distributed to the female candidates, it is transferred to eligible male candidates. Besides the post matric scholarship scheme for minority communities, the MOMA offers pre-matric scholarships and merit cum means scholarships for professional and technical courses.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities Eligibility Criteria
The department of MOMA under the government of India has initiated the post matric scholarship schemes for minorities. Therefore, candidates from class XI belonging to a minority community such as Christian, Muslim, Jain, Buddhism, Sikh, and Parsi can apply to this scholarship. The eligibility criteria for the post matric scholarship scheme for minority students are as follows:
- The candidates should be pursuing class XI and above at recognised institutions.
- They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
- Their family income should not exceed INR 2,00,000 per annum.

The MOMA will cover the students' admission and tuition fees. In addition, they will offer maintenance allowance for both day scholars and hostellers. How to Apply for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities?
The candidates can apply for the post matric scholarship scheme for minorities 2023 online. The first time applicants should register before applying for the scholarship. After registration, they will obtain login credentials. The candidates can apply for the post matric scholarship scheme for minorities after logging into the NSP portal. The stepwise process for the scholarship are as follows:
- The candidates should visit the National Scholarship Portal.
- They should register by clicking on the "New Registration" button.
- Next, read the terms and conditions and proceed by clicking on "Continue".
- The candidates should read the scholarship parameters related to the scholarship being applied for.
- They should fill in all the particulars, including personal and bank details.
- Select the aadhar or bank account number as an identification parameter and click on "Register".
- The candidates will receive an OTP on their registered mobile phone number.
- Next, they should log in to the portal using the OTP and fill up the rest of the details.
- The candidates should note down the application Id and password for future reference.
