Kiran is an Indian billionaire entrepreneur and the managing director of Biocon Limited, a biotechnology company located in Bangalore, India. Besides, Kiran is also the chairperson of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. In 2014, she received the Othmer Gold Medal for exceptional contributions to the development of science and chemistry. She is on the Financial Times list of the top 50 influential women in business.

The only other player in history to achieve this feat is the legendary Prakash Padukone.
