1 Year Study Plan for JEE Main 2025
JEE Main is the Joint Entrance Examination conducted twice yearly by the NTA to assess the competency of candidates for admission to some of India's most prestigious engineering institutions. The JEE Main entrance is also a screening exam for JEE Advanced, which, when cleared, will get you admitted to IITs.
With each passing year, the JEE Main cutoff is increasing, and the students are scoring almost parallel marks that of the cutoff. Therefore, a proper 1 year study plan for JEE Main 2025 is required for candidates to score high marks to gain admission to IITs, NITs and GFTIs and qualify for JEE Advanced 2025.
The following is a 1 year study plan to prepare properly for the JEE Main 2025 exam:
1. Analyse the JEE Main Exam Pattern
Familiarisation with the JEE Main exam pattern is crucial to attempt the question paper efficiently. The exam pattern provides an opportunity to understand the marks distribution, marking scheme, number of questions and more.
The detailed JEE Main exam pattern for 2025 is provided below:
Paper - I
- B.E/B. Tech is entirely computer-based.
- It consists of 75 MCQs carrying 300 marks.
- Each correct answer will earn 4 marks and incorrect will cost a deduction of 1 mark.
Paper - II
- JEE Main is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses.
- Paper - II is further divided into two papers, Paper 2A and 2B and is held separately for B.Arch and B.Plan, respectively.
- JEE Main exam is conducted online except for the drawing section of paper 2A, which is conducted offline.
- Paper 2A for B.Arch consists of 77 questions of 400 marks and B.Plan will consist of 100 MCQs of 400 marks.
- Questions will be in MCQ pattern with 4 marks for each correct answer and -1 for wrong ones.
- The unanswered questions will neither add nor deduce marks.
NTA has removed the option to choose questions from section B of each paper in the JEE Main exam pattern. Now, candidates will only have 75 questions, out of which all will be compulsory to answer.
Given the change in the exam pattern, it's crucial to adjust the study plan for JEE Main 2025. Candidates will now have to cover all topics, regardless of its weightage in the syllabus.
