JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will host the JEE Main Counselling 2025 on the official portal tentatively from Jun 03, 2025. JEE counselling 2025 is expected to be conducted in 5 rounds and four different processes: JoSAA Counselling, CSAB Special Rounds, CSAB NEUT Counselling and CSAB Supernumerary Rounds.
Candidates who scored 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination were eligible to participate in the JEE Main 2025 counselling. They must complete the JEE Main 2025 registration and choice-filling process to participate in the counselling process.
The Authority will announce the JoSAA seat allotment result round-wise on the official website. JoSAA seat allotment result 2025 can be checked online at josaa.nic.in. The application number and password are required to view the JoSSA 2025 seat allotment result.
Only the aspirants with a valid JEE Main 2025 score, and those who registered for JoSAA/JEE counselling 2025 before the deadline were considered for B.Tech admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
JEE Main Counselling Session 1 2025 Dates
The JEE Main Counselling date 2025 will be announced after the JEE Main Result 2025. Qualified candidates in the JEE Main 2025 exam were invited to participate in the JoSAA counselling process for admission to all participating institutions using their JEE Main exam results. JoSAA admits JEE Advanced ranked applicants to IITs, while JEE Main qualifying candidates are often admitted to NITs, IIITs or GFTIs. JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Counselling Process
JEE Main counselling 2025 process involves various steps such as JEE Main counselling registration, selection of colleges and courses, paying the JEE Main counselling 2025 fees, choice-locking, etc. Students can go through the detailed description of each counselling of JEE Mains 2025 step given below:
Step 1: JEE Main Counselling Registration
Candidates follow the below-mentioned steps for the JEE Mains Counselling registration process:
- Candidates must visit the official website of JoSAA for JEE Main Counselling.
- They can log in to the page using their roll number.
- The registration form for JoSAA will be displayed on the screen.
- Students must read the instructions carefully before clicking on "I Accept".
- Then, students must fill out the registration form with the appropriate information about JEE Main counselling.
- They need to click on the "Declaration".
- Now, the student must click the "Submit" button.
- They must read the instructions carefully and click on "Confirm Registration".
Step 2: Online Choice Filling and Locking
Following the registration process, students must fill out the choices. They can follow the procedure discussed below:
- After successfully registering for NIT Counselling 2025, candidates will be asked to select the institute type, name, and academic program.
- After filling in the above information, They can click the "Choice filling and locking" option.
- Now select the college and the course by filling in as many preferences as possible.
- They must click on the "Save" button.
- The students are advised to be careful while locking their choices, as these cannot be changed after submission.
Step 3: JoSAA 2025 Seat Allotment
The JEE main seat allotment 2025 was announced on the official portal after registration. Students can follow the steps below for the post-choice filling process:
- Students are granted JEE Main 2025 counselling admission to a college based on category, AIR in JEE Main 2025 rank list, reservation norms, choice filling, and vacancies.
- They get the NIT counselling 2025 seat allotment letter via SMS/E-mail from JoSAA a few days after completing their choice.
- Candidates are advised to download the JEE Main Counselling seat allotment letter.
Step 4: Fee Payment and Seat Acceptance
The seat allotted candidates must pay the fee and accept the seat allotted. They can follow the steps below for the JEE Main counselling fees payment process:
- They must pay the acceptance JEE Mains counselling fees to confirm the JEE Mains seat allotment for 2025.
- JEE Main counselling 2025 Fee payment can be made by Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Step 6: Reporting to the Allotted College

Documents Required for JEE Mains Session 1 Counselling
After accepting their assigned seats, candidates must go to the reporting centres established by JoSAA to verify their documents. Candidates must bring all of the documentation mentioned below with them while reporting.
- Personal Details: Photo Identity Card, Medical Examination Report and Proof of Date of Birth.
- Academic Qualification: Class 10th and 12th Mark sheets, Jee Main admit card and Provisional JEE Mains Seat Allotment 2025 Letter.
- Caste/PwD Certificate: Category (OBC-NCL / SC / ST) certificate, if applicable, OBC NCL declaration if required, PwD certificate, if applicable, and Three passport-size photographs (uploaded at the time of registration)
JEE Main Session 1 Special Round Counselling 2025
JEE Main counselling 2025 includes the CSAB providing centralised counselling for the following four categories:
- CSAB Special Round is open to all NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs in India.
- CSAB SFTI (Self-Financing Technical Institutes): For 12 self-financing technical institutes
- CSAB NEUT: For extra seats in JEE Mains in NITs for Union Territories and several AICTE-approved institutes in the North East and Union Territories (NEUT). Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar, and Lakshadweep are among the 12 North East and Union Territories for which the CSAB will conduct counselling.
- CSAB Supernumerary: For the Union Territories (UTs) of Andaman & Nicobar, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep & Khandvi supernumerary round of counselling.
After the JoSAA 2025 seat distribution process is completed, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct two special rounds of JEE Main counselling 2025.
- For seats in JEE Mains that remain unfilled after seven rounds of JoSAA counselling, CSAB special rounds are held.
- Candidates with a valid JEE Main 2025 score can participate in the counselling round.
- Registration for CSAB 2025 special round JEE Main counselling will tentatively begin in the last week of Aug 2025.
JEE Main Counselling 2025 JoSAA
Candidates who have qualified for JEE Main but have not qualified for JEE Advanced can apply for colleges like NITs, IITs, and GFTIs. They can register for JEE Main counselling at their preferred college, and the seat are allotted based on the rank score, category, and seat availability. After the seats in JEE Mains have been allocated, the candidates can proceed with document verification and fee payment regarding JEE Main counselling 2025.
JEE Main Session 1 Counselling: CSAB NEUT and CSAB SFTI
JEE Mains counselling 2025 for CSAB NEUT and CSAB SFTI is similar to JoSAA.
- CSAB NEUT Counselling 2025: CSAB counselling 2025 date JEE Mains was announced on the official website. CSAB NEUT is conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) to fill out the supernumerary seats in JEE Mains for the North East Region and Union Territories.
- CSAB SFTI Counselling 2025: CSAB SFTI is conducted for Self-Financing Technical Institutes candidates. A total of 34 institutes participate, and the seat allocation is based on the order of preference filled by the candidates based on JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) in Paper I and Paper II, respectively.
