JEE Main Rank List 2024 for both sessions will be released by the National Testing Agency or NTA name-wise and state-wise on JEE Main's official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in). The JEE Mains 2025 topper list with marks will be released once the JEE Main result 2024 are declared. The boards use the percentile method to prepare the JEE Main merit list 2024. 

The JEE Main Rank List 2024 can help candidates anticipate the cut-off for admission into top colleges. The JEE Main 2024 exam is crucial for admission to almost all engineering colleges in India. Clearing the test with a good rank will help the aspirants to become eligible for securing admission to the colleges.

The JEE Main 2024 Rank List will contain marks, percentile, and ranks for the particular candidate who appeared in the JEE Main 2025 exam for session 1 and the JEE Main 2025 exam session 2.

JEE Main Rank List 2024

The JEE Mains 2025 rank list contains topper names and their ranks based on percentile obtained in the exam. Students can also check the JEE Main 2025 cutoff and review the top percentile scored by the top candidates for each gender under reserved and unreserved categories. NTA calculates the percentile using the total score obtained from the JEE main exam and provides rankings for the top performers.

The NTA will release the JEE Mains Toppers list 2025 on the official website on April 2025 for the session 2 B.E and B.Tech exams. A separate toppers list will be issued for JEE Mains session 1 for B.Arch and B.Plan on May 2025. There are times when there is a tie in the ranks between 2 or more candidates. In that case, the following factors will be considered to ascertain the final JEE Main Rank List 2024 of the concerned candidates:

  1. Firstly, the NTA score secured by the candidates in the Mathematics subject is considered in breaking the ties.
  2. If a tie still exists then the NTA scores secured by candidates in Physics subject will be considered.
  3. Still, there is a tie, then Chemistry subject marks are taken into consideration.
  4. Next, the candidate's age will be taken into consideration to break the tie if it continues.
  5. Lastly, if there is still a tie then the same rank will be awarded to the concerned candidates.

Procedure for Computing JEE Main Rank List for Session 1

Here are the steps involved in computing the JEE Main rank list for session 1:

  1. Once the raw scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Main exam have been normalized, the authorities will declare the NTA scores.
  2. Next, separate subject-wise scores will be released by NTA in addition to the overall result.
  3. The best of two marks will be used to compile the ranking list.
  4. However, if a candidate has only attempted one test, that one will be used to determine their ranking.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for Paper 2 Rank List

The JEE Main Rank List tie-breaking criteria for session 2 to prepare the results are given below:

  1. A candidate with a higher score in mathematics will be given priority.
  2. Next, a candidate with a high aptitude score will be considered.
  3. However, if a tie still exists, the marks scored on the drawing paper will be evaluated.
  4. Finally, candidates with a lower negative-to-positive answer ratio are given precedence if a tie still exists.
