2. C. Rajagopalachari

Chakravarti Rajagopalachari, popularly known as Rajaji or CR, also known as Moot Arignar Rajaji (Rajaji, the Scholar Emeritus), was an Indian statesman, writer, lawyer, and independence activist and a Bangalore University, notable alumni. He graduated in arts from Central College, Bangalore. Rajagopalachari was the last Governor-General of India, as India became a republic in 1950. 

He also served as leader of the Indian National Congress, Premier of the Madras Presidency, Governor of West Bengal, Minister for Home Affairs of the Indian Union, and Chief Minister of Madras state.

3. Prakash Padukone

Prakash Padukone is a former Indian badminton player and notable alumni of Bangalore University. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year, he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India.

4. Nirupama Rao

Nirupama Menon Rao is a retired civil servant of the 1973 batch Indian Foreign Service cadre and a Mount Carmel College, Bangalore graduates with a BA in English. She also served as India's Foreign Secretary from 2009 to 2011 and was India's Ambassador to the United States, China, and Sri Lanka (High Commissioner) during her career.

5. Manchanahalli Rangaswamy Satyanarayana Rao

Manchanahalli Rangaswamy Satyanarayana Rao, known by the abbreviation M. R. S. Rao (born 21 January 1948 in Mysore, India), is an Indian scientist and a notable Bangalore University alumni. He completed his bachelor's degree (BSc) in 1966 and master's degree (MSc) in 1968.

He has been awarded the fourth highest civilian award, Padma Shri, in the Science and Engineering category (2010) by the Government of India. He was the President of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bangalore, India.
