Dr. D Y Patil University, Pune conducts the All-India Biotechnology Entrance Examination every year which is a prestigious entrance exam for biotechnology after 12th to offer admissions to BTech Medical Biotechnology, BTech Biotechnology, and M.Tech (Integrated) Biotechnology programs.
In short, it helps students in pursuing biotechnology. The eligibility criteria that's been provided below apply to all Biotechnology programs.
- You must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Life Sciences as their core subjects.
- You must have passed the same examination with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together if you are under the General category (40% for the Reserved category candidates).
- You must be at least 17 years of age.
- You must be a citizen of India.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Examination
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) is conducted by the namesake university annually is another very important entrance exam for biotechnology after 12th. Achieving passing results offers you biotechnology admission to BBA, BCA, BJMC, BA, MA, BSc, MSc, BHMCT, and MTech programs.
In 2019, the exam for BTech was not been conducted, and for BArch LLB, LLM, MBA, and MCA, it was conducted offline; students were required to carry a pen to write the exam.
If you fulfil the eligibility criteria, then you get to submit the application form online. The eligibility criteria for IPU CET BSc is as follows:
- You must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
- For admission in BSc Radio Technology and Medical Technology, you must have passed in 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
or must have obtained a diploma in radiotherapy technology along with 5 years of experience in radiotherapy with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2.

Central University Biotechnology Entrance Examination
The Central University Biotechnology Entrance Examination is conducted annually to gain admission to 5-year undergraduate, integrated programs, including Biotechnology, in Central Universities.
This biotechnology exam is held by the 10 Central Universities every year. These Central Universities include South Bihar, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
- You must have passed 10+2 from any recognized state or central board with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks to be eligible for this test. Those who do may submit an application form online.
- The exam pattern for the CUCET exam tends to comprise 100 objective-type, multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark each, which you must finish within 1 hour and 30 minutes. The paper is divided into 2 parts:
- Part A: consists of topics on the English language, mathematical aptitude, general awareness, and analytical skills. The cumulative total is 25 marks.
- Part B: Comprises topics related to Domain Knowledge. The section is worth 75 marks in total.
Anna University Biotechnology Entrance Examination
Anna University Biotechnology Entrance Examination conducts by the university itself every year which is an important entrance exam for biotechnology after 12th and it offers a chance to win applications for BTech Biotechnology courses and similar undergraduate courses.
It is one of the largest technical universities located in Tamil Nadu. This exam takes place once a year.
- The eligibility criteria for all these programs is that you must have passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks with PCM as a compulsory subject.
- Anyone who fulfils the eligibility criteria must submit the application form online, save for MBA, MCA, and MS by research and PhD courses, their application forms are required to be submitted to the university itself in person.
Based on 2019's question paper, the exam pattern is such that there are 100 objective-type, MCQs, with the total marks coming up to 100. You have only 2 hours to finish it.
The first section is compulsory, but the second section is based on the course selected by candidates.

Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Examination
Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam (JMI EEE) is conducted by its namesake university every year. They offer admissions to BSc Biotechnology and other undergraduate courses in JMI.
The submission of application forms and the conduction of the entrance exams mainly occur in March and June, respectively. Students who want to get admission into Jamia Millia Islamia must clear the entrance exam taken by the University.
- The eligibility criteria for all the programs include passing your 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and having science subjects (PCM) as core subjects. Anyone who passes these criteria may submit their application form online.
- The exam pattern is similar to others in that you have 100 objective-type MCQs.
- What's different about this exam is that there is a negative marking for every incorrect answer; 0.25 to be exact. Correct answers are awarded 1 mark.

NOTE: The NEET score is not required for admissions to any Biotechnology courses in India.
Nevertheless, for admission to B.E. Biotechnology, the applicants should have passed the (10+2) examination with science subjects likewise Maths, Biology, and Chemistry. However, the JEE score is required for admissions to courses under IITs.
