Following are the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 for the undergraduate courses for the students reference.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for B.Des
- Age Limit: According to the age restriction for the NIFT entrance exam, candidates in the general category must be older than 23 on the day of admission.
- Reserved Category Age Limit: The maximum age limit is lowered by five years for candidates who fall under the SC, ST, or Physically Handicapped Person (PHP) categories.
- Academic Qualification: In order to meet the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025, candidates must have passed the class XII exam, its equivalent from a recognized central or state board, or the GCE (General Certificate Education) test at an advanced level.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for B.F.Tech
- Academic Qualification: To meet the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025, a candidate must have passed the 10+2 level exam from an accredited central or state board of secondary examination, New Delhi, or have an advanced GCE (General Certificate Education) exam with Physics and Chemistry.
- The candidate must have taken the International Baccalaureate (IB) or General Certificate Education (GCE) at the advanced (A) level in mathematics, physics, and chemistry in London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka.
- The student must have passed any public school, board, or university exam in India or any other country that the Association of Indian Universities recognizes as being comparable to the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics courses in the 10+2.
- The applicant must have passed the National Open School Senior Secondary School Examination in at least five disciplines, including mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
- Applicants who possess a 3- to 4-year engineering diploma certificate approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are also eligible for the B.F. Tech.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for PG Courses
Below mentioned is the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 for the postgraduate courses. It is mandatory for the students to meet the eligibility criteria as then only they can sit for the examination.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for M.Des
- To meet the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025, the candidate must possess an undergraduate degree from any accredited institution or a diploma in undergraduate design from NIFT / NID alone.
- Students must have completed a minimum of three year undergraduate diploma from NIFT or NID.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for MFM
- The candidate seeking admission to the M.F.M course must have a minimum of 3 years undergraduate diploma from NIFT/ NID or undergraduate degree from any recognized institute to meet NIFT eligibility criteria 2025.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for M.F.Tech
- In order to meet the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025, candidates seeking an M.F.Tech must possess a B.Tech./BE degree from any accredited institution or a B.F.Tech from NIFT.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2025 Category-Wise
The NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 vary depending on the category. To appear for the NIFT exam, students must meet the eligibility criteria on their category-basis. Displayed below are the eligibility conditions for NIFT 2025 for different categories.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria for SC/ ST Candidates
- A caste or tribe certificate from the National Commission of Tribes or the Competent Authorities of the relevant States, Union Territories, or other jurisdictions must be shown by candidates applying under the reserved quota.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria for OBC Candidates
- Candidates must have an OBC certificate that is issued in their own names, not in the names of their parents or legal guardians.
- The OBC certificate should be no more than a year old, and it should explicitly state that the candidate is a member of the Non-Creamy layer. The Competent Authority is required to issue the certificate.
- Married women must present their own caste certificate while applying to any course under the reserved category. It is not appropriate to have a certificate issued in the name of a mother, father, or spouse.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria for PwD Candidates
- When submitting their application, candidates who are physically disabled must provide a copy of their disability certificate. These applicants must present the original medical certificate when seeking counselling or being admitted to the institution.
- Candidates with disabilities must attend counselling in order to be evaluated. After evaluating each candidate's skills, a course will be assigned to them. Applications from PHP students for outside help during examinations may be considered by NIFT, subject to the requirement that the applicant/student cover all costs.
