Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital (BSMC), established in 1956 by the Bankura Sammilani Trust, is situated in Bankura, West Bengal. It is currently affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS), having previously been part of Calcutta University. The college, approved by the Medical Council of India, offers various UG, PG, and Diploma courses in medical, nursing, and paramedical fields. BSMC Admission

Bankura Sammilani Medical College admits students based on merit and entrance exam scores. Admission to MBBS and BSc Nursing/Post Basic BSc Nursing is through NEET UG scores. 15% of MBBS seats are reserved for All India Quota, with 85% under the State Quota. UG candidates must have passed 10+2 with Biology and at least 45% marks. MD/MS admissions are based on NEET PG scores and counseling. MSc Nursing and GNM require JEMScN and WBJEE ANM & GNM exam scores. Admission to DMLT, DRT, DOpt, DPT, Dialysis, DOTT, DRD, DCCT, and ECG is merit-based. Reservation follows the Government of West Bengal and NEET norms.

BSMC Eligibility Criteria

Bankura Sammiliani Medical College has set up different criteria for admission to different courses. The candidate must fulfill all the requirements for getting admission. Admissions to PG, UG, Nursing, and Paramedical courses are made solely on the basis of the candidate's results in the National Eligibility Entry Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the basic criteria for some courses are as follows

UG Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must have passed their 12th standard examination in the science stream (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• Candidates are also required to go through counseling from NEET to get a seat in the program
• The prospective student must be 17 years of age at the time of admission, or by the end of the calendar year
• The upper age limit for MBBS applicants is 25 years of age, with a relaxation of 5 years for students under reservation or with benchmark disabilities

 PG Eligibility Criteria

• For M.D must have an MBBS degree.

Nursing Eligibility Criteria

• 10+2 in PCB/ English with 45% marks.

Vertical extension of almost all the hostel buildings, vertical extension of G&O Building, an extension of SNCU, an extension of General Emergency with Observation wards, an extension of the examination hall, one new Lecture theater with 180 capacity, one large Lecture theater of 350 capacity, an extension of other three Lecture theaters, an extension of OPD ticket counters, extension and renovation of different pre-clinical (along with the Dissection hall), para-clinical and clinical departments, two new Common Rooms for the students (Boy’s & Girl’s), two new Public toilet blocks and one patient party waiting shed, installation of Digital X-ray facility have already been completed. A huge ultramodern Central Library, repair and renovation of all the Staff Quarters, Maternal & Child Hub, one new ITU with all modern facilities, and construction of a massive Electric Sub-station to meet the huge power load are on the verge of completion. The boundary wall of two Senior Boys hostels, playground, and some staff quarters will also be started soon. Several lifts will be installed at Nutan Bhavan, the main Hospital building, different multi-storied Hostels, and the G&O building. Construction of the Nursing College building (for BSc & MSc Nursing) and the Superspeciality building under the PMSSY project has already been started.

BSMC Cutoff

The College Cut-off is the minimum mark prescribed by the selection board for the admission of students. The merit list will be designed on these Cutoff scores. Aspirants who apply for the Institute need to clear the Cutoff for various courses. Aspirants are required to obtain minimum qualifying percentile marks in NEET 2022 entrance examination in order to qualify for further admission process.
