Bharati Vidyapeeth was started by Dr. Patangrao Kadam in 1964 with the mission to bring an intellectual awakening of people through the spread of education and to prepare human resources needed for all-round development, particularly the economy of the country. In the last 48 years, Bharati Vidyapeeth has made astonishing strides in the field of education.
Currently, it has 167 educational units of various kinds from pre-primary schools to postgraduate institutions. This includes 67 colleges and institutions of various disciplines. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University has established the School of Distance Education with approval of Distance Education Council, Government of India, New Delhi with a view of providing higher education in various disciplines to the students desirous of taking it. Admission procedure at BVDU SDE:
The students should apply online to the academic program of their choice. The candidate will be admitted provisionally to the program on verification of the eligibility for admission.
Cutoffs for Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University - School of Distance Education, Pune:
- The above eligibility criteria are taken into serious consideration for BVDU SDE admissions.
- Interested candidates must ensure to satisfy all the entry requirements before submitting their applications for the relevant courses.
- Candidates who have secured the highest marks will be given the first preference of seats and the core branch of their choice.
- Candidates will be granted seats on the basis of merit from their 10+2 as well as relevant entrance examination marks if applicable.
- Admissions for Arts and Commerce courses will be done on first come first serve basis, as long as students satisfy the required eligibility criteria.
- Any students who are found not to fall in the eligibility criteria will be disqualified from the selection process and therefore will not gain admission to the respective courses.
- Applicants must duly submit the required documents at the time of admissions, failing which they will not be given enrollment in the university for the respective program.
BVDU - School of Distance Education, Pune Hostel Information:
- Although the University campus is provided with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, the hostel is not open for distance and correspondence study candidates.
- The system of distance education is designed so that candidates can continue with any part/full-time jobs in the duration of their study.
- Candidates of distance education do not attend classes on campus and are not required to find accommodation in the area.
- They can remotely study the subjects of their choice (while enrolled at the university) and appear for the University's main exams only.
- Students who need accommodation help can look out for private hostels or PG homes in the city or at the location of their choice.
