Scholarships at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi [BIT Mesra]:
- Merit Scholarships are provided to the students admitted to their first semester, based on their JEE Main Rank.
- Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships are provided to students based on their previous semester performance.
- The Institute shall provide the fee waiver for students facing financial hardship due to the sudden and untimely demise of the sole earning member of their family.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee is 1.5 lakhs per annum. No scholarship is there. Selection is merit based. All nationalized banks are giving loans.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Graduation is needed and CAT minimum score should be above 75 percentile. Entrance exams incliude CAT / XAT / MAT / SNAP.
Placements & Internships : I have done internship in Market Research from Market Probe New Delhi. Compaanies that come to hire are in the fields of Sales , marketing , Finance , Human Resourse , Operations. The average salary package is 4.5 lakhs and maximum is 9 lakhs per annum. Percentage of batch that was placed is 70%. Very good Alumni network is there, but it is mostly related to technical education. Lesser alumni is there related to Management courses.
Academics & Faculty : Classes start at 7:30 am and end at 2:00 pm. Trimester exams are there. Teaching quality and method is very good. It is great being a part of BIT.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : No hostel facility is there within campus but PGs are available. PG costs around 7k to 10k per month. College canteen is good. Classroom / Labs / Library / Dining halls are good but there is no WiFi support.
Clubs & Associations : Events held in the college are College Sports Week / Annual Function. The clubs on campus are Marketing clubs / Mangament Clubs / Technical Clubs. Life is great in college with many festivals.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Students have got their admission on the basis of their marks or percentage in the std 12 board examination, that was the main eligibility criteria to get enrolled as a student of BIT MESRA. Further about the procedure, once your name appeared in the cut off list u can continue your further admission procedure. In that all the class 12th certificates including mark sheet, 10passport size photo and a hard copy of your certificates, etc.
Placements & Internships : About the placement cell, so many IT companies have been coming for hiring students and the average package is 4.8 lakhs. Ratings:4/5
Academics & Faculty : No doubt about the quality or method. The way of the lecture given by the professors is too good.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is no hostel in the college campus. As if u want hostel you can take the hostels, located at a walking distance from the college campus.
Clubs & Associations : Truly, u cant enjoy the college life as being a student of BIT EXTENSION, firstly the college is not coed.

Fees & Scholarships : Fees in Bit mesra is not so much. Students can afford if also they are not so rich. Yes it is higher than other institute but also provides better facilities and teaching aids. Bit mesra is reputated well known college.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Admission in Birla Institute of Technology is through Jee Mains Or Advance. Based on the marks scored in the Jee mains students can have any branch they want to do engineering with. Admission on BE courses is strictly based on Jee mains and students should have scored minimum 75 percent in all subjects.
Placements & Internships : The placements of BIT MESRA are good as many students go for higher studies and some get placed in mass recruiter companies. If you are interested and do good, then you can grab a great package and can become far more successful than the students of other branches.
Academics & Faculty : Some of the faculty members of our college are the best, some are good, and some are average. They are divided according to your nature of grabbing the course knowledge. Faculty members are helpful in any knowledge case demand, but they are serious about giving marks. It is a top-rated college by MHRD.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Hostel Facilities is available in BIT MESRA. Boys and girls hostel is separated. Mess facilities is available for the students. Wifi s available in the hostel. Classrooms are big and well furnished. Campus wifi is also available.
Clubs & Associations : The fests organised in the college are awesome. The fests in the college are similar to the fests organised in IIT

Fees & Scholarships : The total course fee varies every year. For my specific year of admission, the total fees for 4 years were around INR 10 lakhs excluding the mess fee which would cost another INR 1.5 lakhs at the maximum. There are scholarships based on merit but only for those whose parental income is below INR 3 lakhs.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : BIT Mesra has 2 rounds of admission - The first one is through JOSAA where you get a particular branch according to the availability of seats and your preference. Once this step is completed, there is an option for internal sliding where you can change your branch if you wish so but this depends on the remaining vacant seats and your JEE Mains Rank. The second round is the SPOT round which is conducted by the college for the remaining seats. You can apply through the website and it takes place after 20-25 days of the end of the first round.
Placements & Internships : The number of companies which come for recruitment actually varies every year. Still, the placements for CS/IT is quite good with different companies coming to the campus every year but the same is not true for other branches.
Academics & Faculty : The classes will be generally from 8 am to 5 pm. Some teachers are excellent while the others just read their notes. It actually depends on your branch and the professors. There will be quizzes and assignments for the internal assessment. In all a person has to study by himself/herself, depending on the teacher would take you nowhere. But seniors can be a great source of help to contact them.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 12 hostels in all our of which 2 are for girls and everyone is required to stay in the hostel, being a residential university. There is not much to say about the infrastructure as there is just one main building which has almost all the departments. Wifi is available at many places in the campus. The library facilities are good but you can't say the same about the staff there.
Clubs & Associations : There are various clubs - technical and cultural, and they keep you busy and entertained throughout your college life. They will be a family away from home. So do join clubs as you will gain a lot of experience.

Academics & Faculty : Class starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm. A 2 hr gap is provided in between the classes interval Exams are decided by the examination department and the date sheet is announced on the college website.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are about 13 hostels( 2 girls and other boys ) including 1 hostels for Ph.D. students. The hostel is compulsory for students studying in the college and the hostel fee is included in the semester fees. Only an amount of INR 20000 is separately deposited for the mess. Labs are well equipped and updated and are better than many other universities. Classrooms are well maintained and equipped with hi-tech teaching aids.
Clubs & Associations : The biggest extravaganza is BITOTSAV, the annual cultural fest of BIT, Mesra. It involves a large number of fun events, competitions and power-packed nights with stars coming to the college and performing. Many events organized by respective clubs in the college. Some of them include DHWANI, the annual music fest; VAJRA, the annual sports fest; ROSTRA, the annual literary fest; DRAMZEST, the annual dramatics competition etc.
