Government College of Fine Arts, [GCFATCR] Thrissur is located at the heart of Thrissur, Kerala. More than 100 years of existence has given a unique character to the institution in the history of arts institutions in India. The institute is one of the three fine art institutions in Kerala. It is affiliated with the University of Calicut. The institute started functioning in 1910. During the time of the second world war, the institute was renamed as 'Trade School'. From 1943 to 1975 this institute was renamed as Govt Occupational Institute. In 1975 the institute was upgraded with the status of Government  Institute of Fine Arts.

College of Fine Arts Thrissur Admissions are for the BFA bachelor's degree in 3 disciplines of visual arts namely sculpture, painting, and applied arts. The candidates can obtain the application form from the principal of the fine arts college or by submitting a demand draft in favor of the principal of the fine arts college, Thrissur.

BFA Program

The BFA is an undergraduate course that consists of fine arts subjects. The course has a duration of 3 years. At least 50 percent of 10+2 from any recognized board in India are eligible for Bachelors of Fine Art.
