KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai is a renowned institution that offers various merit-based scholarships to deserving students pursuing business education. These scholarships aim to recognize and reward the students' academic excellence, leadership potential and overall achievements.

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set by the colleges to avail of financial aid. KJSAC is committed to issuing scholarships and aid for deserving students. Dr. Meenakshi Rajan Memorial Scholarship

Providing students with enlightened liberal arts disciplines to create insightful participants in society who are well-rounded, skilled in reading, writing, thought, and speech, and possess an eye for integration of academics is the aim of this scholarship. 

Students must have an Income certificate/bank statement of a salaried person, a mark sheet of the previous class, a donation request letter, and identity proof in the form of a ration or Aadhaar card as documents to find themselves eligible for the scholarship process.

Dr. Meenakshi Rajan Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be applying to the Humanity course.
• The candidate may be limited to other need-based scholarships & loans.
• The candidate must have scored first class in the previous academic year.
• Humanities Scholarships will be awarded based on previous academic grades and need.

 Bharti Nanji Gala Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2014, the Bharati Nanji Gala Memorial Scholarship is a contribution by Mr. Dhiren Savla (an Alumni of KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce) and his sister Priti Shah (an Alumni of KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce). Mr. Dhiren Savla is today a Global CIO for a multinational firm and Priti Shah is currently serving as a lawyer in Mumbai High Court.

Students must have an Income certificate/bank statement of a salaried person, a mark sheet of the previous class, a donation request letter, and identity proof in the form of a ration or Aadhaar card as documents to find themselves eligible for the scholarship process.

Bharti Nanji Gala Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should be a female student of Somaiya Vidyavihar/Ayurvihar.
• Candidate May be attending any diploma, full time or part-time course.
• Candidate should have scored first class in all previous academic years.
• Annual Household income of INR 3,00,000 or less.

Smt. Nirmala Raychand Savla Memorial Scholarship

Nirmala Raychand Savla Memorial Scholarship was established in 2014 through a contribution by Mr Dhiren Savla, Somaiya Vidyavihar Alumnus, for a named annual scholarship in memory of his mother Smt. Nirmala Raychand Savla.

Students must have an Income certificate/bank statement of a salaried person, a mark sheet of the previous class, a donation request letter, and identity proof in the form of a ration or Aadhaar card as documents to find themselves eligible for the scholarship process.

Smt. Nirmala Raychand Savla Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should be a female student of Somaiya Vidyavihar/Ayurvihar.
• Candidate May be attending any diploma, full time or part-time course.
• Candidate should have scored first class in all previous academic years.
• Annual Household income of INR 3,00,000 or less.

Smt. Sakarbai K Somaiya Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship sponsors students who lack financial support to complete their education and have no access to other government scholarships & loans. Priority will be given to candidates with a marked socio-economic disadvantage. Once the scholarship is awarded it will continue till the end of the course.

Smt. Sakarbai K Somaiya Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must demonstrate proven financial need and be able to provide evidence of their financial accounts.
• Candidates must be asked to submit additional documents during the application or interview process.
• The candidate should be a student of Somaiya Vidyavihar / Ayurvihar and could have limited access to other need-based scholarships & loans.

Smt. Mayadevi S Somaiya Memorial Scholarship

The Somaiya need-based scholarship is a program that sponsors students who lack financial support to complete their education and have no access to other government scholarships & loans. Priority will be given to candidates with a marked socio-economic disadvantage.

Smt. Mayadevi S Somaiya Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must demonstrate proven financial need and be able to provide evidence of their financial accounts.
• Candidates must be asked to submit additional documents during the application or interview process.
• The candidate should be a student of Somaiya Vidyavihar / Ayurvihar and could have limited access to other need-based scholarships & loans.

Shri Raychand Karamshi Savla Memorial Scholarship

The objective of this scholarship is to help out students who have faced a sudden economic, or financial loss due to a death in the family or loss of a job, etc. This could apply to any student across our campuses at any point during their course.

Shri Raychand Karamshi Savla Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

• The family income of the students should be INR 3,00,000 or less.
• Students can be from any institute, course or campus.
• Students must have scored 80% in their previous examination.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid is available to students at entry level, i.e. while applying for admission to a programme under any of the SVU institutes. While admission to a programme is based on academics, extra-curricular activities and other criteria as prescribed, Financial Aid is assessed entirely based on the financial standing and needs of the student /student’s family.

Eligibility Criteria

Financial Aid is available for applicants seeking admission into any undergraduate and postgraduate programme offered by the institution. To be eligible for financial aid, applicants need to fulfil any one of the following criteria.

• Family income of less than ₹ 800,000 per annum
• People with Disabilities (PwD)
• Wards of Defence personnel disabled or deceased in the line of duty
• Applicants who have represented the state and/or country in any recognised sport. (Only for B.Sc. Sports and Exercise Science applicants).

Selection Process

The selection process will follow the below-mentioned procedure:

• Submission: Applicants to register on the admissions portal (admissions.somaiya.edu) and submit the Financial Aid related documents along with the Admission Form
• Screening: All applications thus submitted will be reviewed and screened based on the eligibility criteria
• Evaluation:
  1. Applicants found eligible after the screening, will go through an interview round
  2. Scrutiny /verification of documents will be done as per the requirements
