Narasinha Dutt College was established in 1924 at Howrah in the residential building of Late I.R. Belilious. The institute of higher education is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The institute has been recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission) in 2015, awarded ‘B’ grade by NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The college bears the motto: “Jnanat Prataram Nahi” (There is no higher attainment than knowledge). The college is located in Belilious Road, adjacent to the Belilious Park, in the industrial heartland of the city of Howrah.
Presently, the college in its three sections (Morning, Day & Evening) offers U.G. courses (Hons. & Gen.) in 18 subjects of Arts, Science & Commerce as well as 2 self-financed P.G. courses in Mathematics and English.
