The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) was founded on March 9, 1977, through the merger of the National Institute of Health Administration and Education (NIHAE) and the National Institute of Family Planning (NIFP). It is an organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India which is serving as a leading technical institute and think tank.
