About National Siddha Institute

The National Institute of Siddha (NIS) in Chennai, established on 3rd September 2005, is a premier institution for Siddha medicine research and study in Tamil Nadu. It is one of eight national institutes set up by the Department of AYUSH, Government of India. NIS is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).

National Siddha Institute Courses

Course Eligibility
BSMS 10+2 in PCB + 50% Marks
MD -
PhD Candidates holding an M.D. in Siddha are eligible for this course.

National Siddha Institute Admissions

The National Institute of Siddha Provides both MD and PhD courses. Admission to the MD program is based on marks obtained in the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET), conducted by the All India Institute of Ayurveda. For the PhD program, candidates must pass an entrance exam and interview.

How to Apply:

For MD Program:

  1. Visit the AIAPGET website (https://www.ntaaiapget.nic.in/).
  2. Register and complete the application form with a scanned photo, signature, and payment of INR 2500 (INR 1750 for SC/ST/PWD).
  3. After submission, receive an acknowledgment and keep a printed copy.
  4. Selected candidates must pay the fee via demand draft during counselling.

For PhD Program:

  1. Visit NIS Chennai’s official website (https://nischennai.org/).
  2. Download and fill out the application form.
  3. Submit the form with a demand draft of INR 2000 (INR 1500 for SC/ST) via Registered Post/Speed Post. Write the applicant’s details on the back of the draft.
