Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital[NRS] Medical Hospital is a medical college which is located in West bengal, kolkata It’s considered as Asia's first Medical College. The history of this college starts at the year of 1864.The first name of the medical college was Campbell medical school(1884) named under the Governor General George Campbell and later it was upgraded to Campbell Medical College in  the year 1948 after the independence of india.After 1950 the college name was renamed as Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital [NSMC&H].The college has witnessed many historical moments in india especially the Great Indian Freedom Struggle.Later during 19th August 1950 the College was renamed as Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital[NRS] Medical College after the name of the Great Indian Freedom Fighter and alumni of the college Dr.Nilratan Sircar(1st October 1861- 18th May 1943).

NRS Medical College offers Under graduate,Post graduate, and Post Doctoral Courses in Msc,Bsc, and as many as ten para medical Courses.NRS Medical College is Affiliated to West Bengal University of Health & Science [WBUHS].Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College Admission is done through NEET UG/PG/PD examinations.The college is having Various Committees inorder to improve and ensure the working condition of the college in an appropriate manner and each of the Committees have their own roles and responsibilities.Institutional Ethics Committe, College Council,Ant- Ragging Committee,Internal Complaints Committee,Local Research Advisory.
