IPGMER is a medical college and hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. IPGMER was previously called the Presidency College and became Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital post-independence. In 1957, it was finally named the  Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research. IPGMER offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist medical degrees and diplomas, para-medical and doctoral courses in medical and nursing sciences. Admission to these courses is based on NEET-UG, NEET-PG, NEET-SS and JENPAS-UG exams.

IPGMER ranked 21st amongst Medical colleges in India under NIRF Rankings 2022. IPGMER was established in 1707 and became a super speciality referral hospital and postgraduate medical institution. There are 44 departments at the institute that conduct academic activities. The MBBS course was started in 2004 and currently has an intake of 150 students. IPGMER is an MCI-recognised and WBUHS-affiliated institute.

IPGMER Admission

IPGMER, Kolkata admission 2024 will begin around July. IPGMER offers admission to regular and full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist medical degrees, diplomas, and para-medical and doctoral courses in medical and nursing sciences. These include MBBS, BSc, DM, MCh, BPT, and PG-Diploma and PhD courses. Admissions to these courses are based on NEET-UG, NEET-PG, NEET-SS, and JENPAS-UG scores.

IPGMER Eligibility Criteria

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects and an aggregate of 50% marks.

IPGMER cutoff 2022 has been declared. The cutoff is released separately for NEET-UG, NEET-PG/NEET-SS, JENPAS-UG and WBUNET exams. The cutoffs are based on average student performance, student intake and previous year cutoffs.

IPGMER placement drives have the reputation of placing most students in reputed hospitals and organisations. For example, 120 UG and 143 PG students were placed in 2020- 21.
