- RIT is a Government Institution, admission is based on the basis of merit/rank obtained in the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the commissioner for Entrance Examination, Government of Kerala.
- There are no management quota/seats available in the institution.
- Application for the Entrance Examination is invited by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, through a common notification.

Direct method:
- Each candidate can get the admission application forms directly from the Office of Admission upon the payment of admission application fee.
- The application forms must be submitted within the last day.
- The dates for submission will be made available on the website.
Online method:
- The candidate can also register on the University page. Once this is done the candidates are required to fill the login details a password will be sent to their registered email by which candidate can log in and fill the form.
- Payment of the admission application fee can be made through Demand draft as well as net banking.

- Admit card of the examination
- birth certificate
- certificates of SSLC and 12th standard
- Eligibility certificate ( if available)
- Migration certificate (if available )
- Physical Fitness certificate
- Receipt of fee remitted in the bank
- Mark Data sheet of the examination
- Allotment memo issued by CEE
- Income Certificate and Caste ertifiate
One photocopy of each must be submitted.
