School of Open Learning [SOL] was established in the year 1962. It is a part of the Campus of Open Learning and was previously known as The School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. The institute was established by the University of Delhi. DU SOL has grown up to be a pioneer Institution in the field of Distance Education in India, it has 2 campuses functioning in the North and South of Delhi.

School of Open Learning is one of the best ICT-governed Institutions in terms of Student Information Management System (SIMS) and office automation under the ambit of e-governance. It, being one of the best Schools in distance education, is moving towards technology-based students support services by providing Online admit cards with QR codes, demand letters-cum-examination forms, mark sheets and provisional certificates etc.

School of Open Learning has announced the results for various courses and annual examination OBE June of final year result 1st year, on the official website at sol.du.ac.in. Students can access their SOL DU result 2024 by logging into the University online portal and entering the credentials. The university also implements a chance for revaluation/rechecking of answer scripts and DU SOL marksheets within 2-3 weeks of results announcement.
