Infrastructure

The built-up area of Arts & Science block is 2,65,516 Sqft. Of RCC area with 42 class rooms, state of the art Science and Computer Laboratories, Library and the fully air conditioned Apex seminar Hall covering an area of 3080 Sqft., with a seating capacity of 150. The highly sophisticated Mahaveers Auditorium with a built-up area of 6446.75 Sqft. with a seating capacity of 600 has been improvised aesthetically by giving it a front elevation. Staff Quarters, Boys and Girls HOSTEL with Mess and Canteen facilities provide sound infrastructure for the college.

Hostel

SNMV College provides hostel facilities for the residential convenience of the students. Our hostel facility was established in the year 1998 with strength of 33 boys in one floor. There are now two separate hostels for boys and girls. The residents are from various states such as Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Tamilnadu.

Our hostel is a home away from home

Wardens and staff conveners for the HOSTEL provide counseling to hostel residents to motivate them and address their concerns. Staff and students have a “Revival Meeting” bi-weekly to revamp and freshen up their diminishing synergy. The open discussion in this meeting between the students and wardens helps them to overcome problems which in turn will strengthen them to face a bright future ahead.
SNMV hostel provides a good and studious environment for those who want to study with full determination. They have much time to explore the boundaries of education and to enjoy hostel life as well which depends upon time management, planning and determination.

Our hostel has three floors, each consisting of 15 rooms with a total of 48 rooms in the Wing I - Hostel, accommodating 3 students in each room. As the strength increased, an additional hostel was constructed with 71 rooms, with an accommodation capacity of 213 students in the year 2002.
The residents of the hostel are provided with furniture and amenities such as chairs, tables, cupboards, lights and fans. Our HOSTEL have a separate sick room, store room, washing room, reading rooms and wardens’ room.

We have 24 hours water supply in the hostel with the help of 5 bore well systems. Water tank is periodically checked and cleaned. The Water Doctor filter has been installed in the HOSTEL to provide purified drinking water.

The hostel has 24 hours power supply. We use generators in our campus, during power shutdowns. A well-trained electrician and plumber have been appointed separately for the HOSTEL and we have provided them with living quarters.

We have Solar Water Heaters in the hostel campus with a capacity of 2500 litres. Hot water is provided in the morning to the residents. Moreover three geysers are available in each hostel to meet unfavorable weather conditions and emergencies

The college operates a shuttle van service for hostelites throughout the week. A driver resides in the quarters inside the college campus 24 hours to take the students to a hospital in case of emergencies during nights.

A computer centre has been provided with latest systems (configurations) for developing and updating the students' knowledge and is also used as a browsing centre in the evening times.

Study time in HOSTEL give an added advantage as they are expected to be deeply immersed in their lessons. Study time is monitored by the warden on a daily basis

The college has its own dish antenna. All the HOSTEL are provided with television sets. A few channels are made available and are operated by the wardens for the students' entertainment.

Library

The Library located in SNMV College is a full-fledged learning resource that caters to theacademic and intellectual needs of students and faculty members.

The college has an ever growing library with 23, 773 volumes containing the latest valuable editions by experts in various fields the total worth of which is Rs.18,30,000. Every year we add approximately 800 volumes for MBA worth Rs.3,00,000.

Periodical Section:

We are presently subscribing up to 64 professional journals of which 11 are international publications, for which the total subscription amount is Rs.1, 90,000.

We subscribe to 3 business Newspapers and 6 general English newspapers. In our audio-visual section, we have 1535 non-book materials of which 87 are video cassettes, 1400 are CD ROMs and 22 Floppy disc.

Computer Lab

SNMV College of Arts & Science provides exceptional computer lab service and state-of-the-art computing resources in order to fulfill the academic needs of the student community. The Institution has six computer labs with high-tech laptops, desktop and NComputing (Green Environment systems) with LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity. The advent of office automation has ensured inter-departmental "LAN" connectivity. The computing facility is being continuously upgraded and modernized. The labs provide one-to-one access to students for a variety of peripherals.

Mahaveers Auditorium

State of the art Mahaveers Auditorium has a seating capacity of 600. Provided with high end audio, visual facility the auditorium caters to various intercollegiate cultural as well as academic programs.

Apex Seminar Hall

Fully air-conditioned Apex seminar hall can accommodate 200 people. Seminar hall has quality audio visual aids which enhances the overall experience of the participants. Various seminars, conferences and guest lectures are organized in Apex seminar hall for the benefit of students.

Transport

The college’s strategic location makes it an ideal place for students commuting from Coimbatore and Pollachi . A well connected network of buses ply to several destinations located at the outskirts of the City making it easy for the student community to commute on a daily basis.

Temple

Shri Jai Hanuman has his abode inside the SNMVCAS campus. Students, teachers and public visit the temple on all days and derive blessings.
