Sinhgad Institute of Technology Lonavala is NAAC B++ grade accreditated institution that was established in the year 2005. The college is approved by AICTE. Since its establishment, it has been providing various degree courses in the field of Engineering. It has 6 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate courses. The college wants their student not to become only good engineers but to become good human beings also.

It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. SIT, Lonavala is a part of Sinhgad Institutes and has the following campuses:

Sinhgad Institute of Technology Lonavala campus is a lush green and it is spread over an area of 175 acres. The college is providing many facilities for their students like bus services, medical services, and many more. For all the passed out students SIT organized alumni meet and the college got the response from the students also. The college has 7 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls.

The college has a cell for Women's safety "Women's Grievance Cell" which was issued by the Government of India to consider complaints related to any sexual discrimination/ harassment for women. This is to motivate female staff and students for welfare schemes and to establish dignity. The college also organizes National Social Service [NSS] camp like blood donation camp, road safety camp, etc. for students.

SIT has some additional programs for its students to groom their overall personality along with academic excellence.
