Odisha BEd Entrance Exam 2024: Seat Allotment Process

Essentially, the Odisha B.Ed entrance exam 2024 seat allotment occurs in two phases. The 1st phase is sectioned into 4 rounds of seat allotments. Depending on the availability of seats, the 2nd Phase is conducted.

The total BEd seat in Odisha is divided equally among Science and Arts streams, besides PwD seats. A detailed breakdown of the process is given below.

Selection Process

SAMS Odisha authorities draft the provisional Odisha B.Ed entrance exam 2024 seat allotment list based on the Odisha BEd exam 2024 results. The marks of social category and stream-wise are taken into account.

Authorities will also grant seats to candidates who are yet to submit their graduation marks, but their position on the merit list will be below the candidates who have completed their mark updation. This is also applicable during the tie-breaking process.

Applicants must complete the choice filling from Jul 15, 2024 to Jul 22, 2024. In this step, they must arrange the college names in order of their preference. Further, authorities will allot seats based on these choices, seat availability and marks.

Fee Payment

Candidates selected through the Provisional Odisha B.Ed entrance exam 2024 seat allotment must complete the payment by the specified deadline. All payments will be made in online mode. In case, a candidate selects the ‘Slide-up’ option, they will have to pay the difference amount to secure the seat.

Authorities will adjust the payment difference in case it is less than the admission fee, by refunding it to the incumbent’s account which was provided earlier in the CAF. However, the refund will be done after the admissions conclude. Candidates can refer to the table below for further details on fees.

Particulars Details
Admission Fee for Normal Seats 1st Year: INR 50622nd Year: INR 4618
Admission Fee for Self-financing Seats All HEIs Except Utkal University: INR 45,000Utkal University: INR 48,000

Intimation Letter

Once the fee is processed against the seat, authorities will share an SMS with the applicant instructing them to download the ‘Intimation Letter’ from the candidate dashboard. Students must positively report with the letter to the college for reporting purposes.

Other important documents which are required for the admission process will be notified to the candidates either via SMS, email, whatsapp, candidate dashboard or college notice board. College admission cell will further update the status of each chosen candidate and mark as admitted/ absent/ rejected/ observations/ error correction.

Reporting

Students featured in the Odisha B.Ed entrance exam 2024 seat allotment list have to report to their respective colleges. Once students have completed the admission process through Phase 1, they will not be eligible for admissions taking place via Phase 2.

Although, those candidates who were selected in rounds of phase 1 but did not complete admission are eligible for phase 2 and waiting list rounds.

Slide-up

Candidates will find the Slide-up option in their dashboards once they have completed the admission through the 1st allotment. If they select the option, they will be sent an OTP on their registered phones/ emails IDs.

If students choose the slide up option they will be further transferred to their next choice of B.Ed college. Although slide-up requests will be accepted based on the seat availability at the HEI. If they secure a seat through the slide-up option in the next selection round it will be mandatory for them to complete admission at the BEd college.

If they don’t, they will be considered out of the CAP selection process. Also, students who have been selected in the next allotment list will be withdrawn from the previous lists. If students are not chosen via slide-up but have given consent for further rounds their application will be carried forward to the future rounds.
