SRMCAT Syllabus 2023: Subject-wise Syllabus

SRM University is conducting SRMCAT 2023 to get admission to the MBA course offered by SRM University. The candidate should view the SRMCAT 2023 syllabus before appearing for the exam. All the topics included in the syllabus are described below. SRMCAT 2023 question paper consists of 5 sections. These sections are Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning, English, General Awareness/Current Affairs/ Business Affairs.

SRMCAT 2023 Syllabus

The SRMCAT 2023 exam contains five sections: Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness/ Current Affairs/ Business Affairs, and English. The sections and the topics in sections are as given below.

Part I: Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation section of the SRMCAT 2023 exam requires strong ability in graphs, charts, and graphs representing Venn Diagrams, Area, etc. The candidate must have the ability to solve graphs and tabular information. The topics to be covered for Data Interpretation are as follows:

  • Bar Graphs
  • Column graphs
  • Pie chart
  • Line Charts
  •  Graphs representing Area, Venn Diagram, etc.

Part II: Quantitative Ability

The Quantitative Ability section of the SRMCAT 2023 exam is comparable to the difficulty level of the class 10+2 board and graduation level. Topics included for the exam are moderate and less difficult. Aspirants need to have a clear concept of all the topics mentioned below:

This section challenges the student to be well-versed in visual reasoning, critical reasoning, assumptions-premise-conclusions, assertions and reasons, identifying valid inferences, identifying strong and weak arguments, statements and conclusions, cause and effect, puzzles, syllogisms, functions, family tree, etc.

Part IV: English

In this section, the students are checked if they have strong ability in topics such as Comprehension passages, syllogisms, verbal reasoning, synonyms, antonyms, fill in the blanks, jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, sentence correction, sentence completion, idioms, the odd man out, etc.

Part V: General Awareness/ Current Affairs/ Business Affairs

The student must be socially and politically aware and have a good knowledge of current affairs, business, the punch line of companies, famous awards and prizes, science, history, geography, social issues, sports, finance, etc.

SRMCAT 2023 Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions from the topics mentioned above, where each question carries three marks. The exam is conducted for 150 minutes. No marks are deducted for incorrect answers. The questions and marks allotted for each section in the exam question paper are below.
