TS DOST Eligibility Criteria 2024 Highlights
TS DOST Eligibility Criteria 2024 will be decided by the counselling conducting committee. The counselling and seat allotment are conducted by the government of Telangana for the students willing to pursue their higher studies after the 12th.
Candidates who are willing to pursue undergraduate courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCom (Vocational), BCom (Hons), BSW, BBA, BBM, BCA, etc., from colleges affiliated with universities under TS DOST authority should take up this counselling to get admission with merit. Below are the criteria for attending the TS DOST 2024 counselling.
- Candidates must be an Indian citizen. Students who have done their pre-university education outside India are not eligible to attend this counselling.
- Candidates should have completed their 12th examination from BIETS (Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana State) or any other recognized boards.
- For students who have qualified their boards from other than BIETS, CBSC, or ICSC, the management of the schools should make sure that the students submit the eligibility certificates provided by the BIETS.
- The preference for admission is given to students who will qualify their intermediate examinations on the first attempt.
- Candidates who have completed their diploma in engineering/non-engineering/technology courses recognized by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Telangana, are eligible for admission into the first year of all degree programs.
TS DOST Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Different Courses
TS DOST 2024 conducting authority have considered different TS DOST Eligibility Criteria 2024 for certain subjects, which are mentioned below.
- Students who have completed intermediate (Vocational) Medical Lab Technology Course from the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana State or any other state equivalent to it are qualified for admission into BA and B.Com courses only. Whereas, students who have a Bridge Course Certificate along with Intermediate (Vocational) Medical Lab Technology are permitted entry into B.Sc courses.
- Students looking to pursue B.Sc courses should be qualified with at least 40% marks in the concerned science subject in the qualifying examination.
- Students from Arts and Commerce backgrounds are not eligible for B.Sc programs.
- Students who have completed intermediate courses in Mathematics, Economics and Commerce can be considered for B.Sc Mathematics, Statics and Computer Science only.
- Students willing to pursue BSW courses should have at least 40% marks in the intermediate course.
TS DOST 2024 Seat Reservation
Candidates belonging to different communities are given different considerations for seat allotment. There are different reservation guidelines for different communities. There are reservations for SCs, STs and BCs. To know more about the guidelines please go through the complete article.
- SC (Scheduled Castes): Students belonging to this category get a reservation of 15% of seats in each course.
- ST (Scheduled Tribes): Students belonging to this category get a reservation of 6% of seats in each course.
- BC (Backward Classes): Students belonging to this category get a reservation of 29% of seats in each course.
Each group secures a different percentage of seats as mentioned below.

- Students who belong to the above category should submit their nativity, community and birth certificates.
- Students from SC, ST and BC categories who received merit will not be given seats under their caste. They will be given seats from the general quota on the merit rank scored.
- If there are no sufficient candidates to fill the seat from the ST category then the seats are given to candidates from the SC category. This procedure is followed and vice-versa also. In case both the category of students are not up to fill the seats, the students from the general category with merit will be given the seats.
- In the case of BC categories too, if the students of Group A are not sufficient to fill the seats the Group B students get the chance. The same is followed in the case of Group C, Group D and Group E. This seating is completely on a merit basis. If students from none of the groups get to fill up the seat, candidates from the general category get the seats on a merit basis.
TS DOST 2024 Other Reservations
TS DOST 2024 holds reservations for specific other categories too. Students can get admission if they belong to any of the mentioned below category.

TS DOST 2024 will be officially accepted certain boards, students from which are eligible to attend the counselling. Students pursuing their intermediate course from any other board than those listed below will have to submit an eligibility certificate from the BIETS.
