TGCHE announces the TS EDCET eligibility criteria every year along with the release of exam notification. Candidates can visit the official website i.e. edcet.tsche.ac.in or check this page for the detailed eligibility requirement. It is important for applicants to go through the eligibility for TS EDCET 2025 before applying for the exam. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed a UG degree or a PG degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate to be eligible for the exam. Candidates must also be aware of the age limit criteria for TS EDCET before filling out the application form.

TS EDCET Eligibility Criteria 2025

Applicants must fulfill the following TS EDCET eligibility criteria 2025 to get eligible for the exam:

Educational Requirements

  • The candidate must be of Indian Nationality.
  • The candidate must meet "Local" / "Non - Local" Status requirements as prescribed in the
  • Telangana Educational Institutions.
  • Candidates must have earned at least 50% of the possible marks in a bachelor's degree, such as a B.Sc., B.Sc. (Home Science), BCA, B.A., B.Com, BBM, B.A. (Oriental Languages), or a master's degree, or have taken or passed a qualifying test. 50% overall in a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, or an equivalent degree.
  • Candidates of the reserved categories Viz., SC' ST/ BC and other reserved categories must have obtained 40% Marks in the qualifying test.
  • Those candidates appearing in the final year degree exam shall also be allowed to sit for the exam.
  • Students holding MBBS/ BSC (AG) / BVSCI BHMT/ B.Pharm and other professional and job oriented degree courses Viz., LLB are not qualified for admission in B.Ed Course.
  • Candidates possessing a Master Degree without having undertaken undergraduate study are not eligiblefor admission.

Age Limit:

  • The candidate must be older than 19 as of July 1st of the year that the notification is issued. There won't be an upper age restriction.

Please note that the Convener or the Common Entrance Test Committee, Telangana retains the right to reject a candidate's application at any time if the application is incomplete, the candidate does not meet the required eligibility requirements, or false or inaccurate information is provided.

Social Sciences

  • BA with Social Science subjects.

Oriental Languages

  • BA in Telugu/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu/Arabic/Sanskrit as an one optional subject.

  • Literature degree (BA-L) in Telugu/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu/Arabic/Sanskrit.

TS EDCET 2025 Reservation Criteria

Along with the general eligibility criteria, the TGCHE also reserves seats for some candidates. The TS EDCET 2025 reservation criteria can be checked below:

  • Local Candidates: 85% of the available seats are reserved for local candidates. To qualify as a local candidate, one must have studied in educational institutions within the local area for a minimum of four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which the TS EDCET is held.

  • Non-Local Candidates: The remaining 15% of seats are unreserved and open to both local and non-local candidates. Non-local candidates are those who have either resided in the state for a total of 10 years (excluding periods of study outside the state) or whose parents/ spouses are employed in the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, or similar quasi-public institutions within Telangana during the application period.

TS EDCET Eligibility Criteria General Instructions

TS EDCET Eligibility Criteria General Instructions can be checked below:

  • Applicants do not have to submit Xerox copies of certificates with the application. However, they must provide Original Certificates / Xerox copies whenever asked.
  • The information provided in the application will be validated with originals at the time of admission to the course. Providing false information results in prosecution and cancellation of admission at any point in time.
  • Simply showing up to the Entrance Test does not entitle the candidate the right to claim entry into B.Ed. Course.
  • The candidate should apply online only
  • Once all the boxes in the application online are filled, the candidate should click on the submit button. Otherwise, registration number will not be generated and hence application will not be considered.
  • Candidates won't be admitted to the exam hall after the start of the exam on the day of the examination.

TS EDCET Qualifying Marks 2025

Candidates can check out the TS EDCET Qualifying marks criteria below:

  • The minimum passing marks in the entrance test for all the applicants (excluding SC/ ST) shall be 25% of the total marks (i.e. rounded off to 38 marks). 
  • However, applicants from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will have no qualifying marks for ranking.

However, to be eligible for a seat under the NCC/Sports and Games/Physically Handicapped/Children of Armed Personnel quota, candidates from SC/ST communities must receive a minimum qualifying percentage of 25% in the EDCET, rounded to 38 marks.
