WBJEE TFW Scheme was introduced by the government of West Bengal to help economically backward students achieve their academic goals by providing them with tuition fees.
The West Bengal government has introduced the WBJEE TFW Scheme to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing their educational aspirations. This scheme removes the tuition fees and helps these students to pursue their dreams. All institutions in West Bengal reserve 5% of their seats for economically backward students under this scheme.
What Is WBJEE TFW Scheme?
WBJEE TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) Scheme has been launched in West Bengal, India by the government of West Bengal. It was introduced to provide financial assistance to economically weaker students so they can pursue their academic goals. Given below are some of the details of TFW.
- The scheme removes the barriers of financial constraints
- Helps deserving students reach higher education
- Participating colleges have 5% seats exclusively reserved as per AICTE
- Tuition fees of students are either waived or reduced.
- Admissions under this scheme are based on the performance in the West Bengal joint entrance exam.
- Allows the benefit of no tuition fees to economically backward students.
- The entire tuition fee amount is paid by the government.
- The rest of the expenses will have to be paid by the students.

Eligibility Criteria For TFW
To avail the facilities provided by the government of West Bengal under the WBJEE TFW Scheme, the student must pass the eligibility criteria. Following are the requirements to be eligible for it.
- The annual income source of the student must be less than 2.5 lacs per annum
- The student must be the domicile of West Bengal
- A Domicile certificate is mandatory during the admission and counselling process
- The student must submit the photocopy of the domicile certificate of their guardian during admission and counselling time.
- The student must also submit a photocopy of the income certificate of the guardian during the admission and counselling process

Documents Required for TFW
There are some official documents that need to be submitted in order to avail the WBJEE TFW Scheme. The required documents are mentioned below.
- The income certificate is needed (In case of failure the seat is allotted to candidates under the TFW category).
- The domicile certificate is also required during the time of admission and counselling.

TFW Income Certificate: Rules and Regulations
Certain rules and regulations are required to be followed for the fair and transparent assessment of the income status. The following are given below.
- The candidate is required to submit an income certificate according to the proforma provided.
- A relevant certificate from competent authorities is required including
- Officer in the rank of assistant secretary or above in the state of Central Government
- District magistrate
- Additional district magistrate
- Sub-divisional officer
- Block development officer

Steps to Register for WBJEE TFW Scheme
To avail the WBJEE TFW Scheme in any institution you have to register in that institution by filling WBJEE 2024 exam form. The steps to register for the same are:
- While registering for any university the candidate must select the TFW category at the time of registration and fill out the WBJEE 2024 exam
- Once the criteria of TFW are fulfilled, a rank will be issued at the time of publication of the grade card along with the GMR rank of WBJEE 2024
- Then candidate's domicile certificate and annual income proforma are taken into consideration
- After all procedures have been followed, the candidate is allotted the TFW reserve seat to avail the TFW Scheme benefits.
